Default B18B1 Performance

Does anyone know if anyone makes high compression pistons, racing cams, and valve springs for non-vtec B18B1s? I don't really want to go vtec. I don't have the money.

i think youll spend plenty more money building the engine like you want, than if you went lsvtec. i dont know all the details on building a lsvtec but im pretty sure itll be cheaper and just as fast if not faster. goodluck

you can certainly make an ls perform if you have the right recipes. to my mind it all comes down to tuning. The ls block gives you some options, you can consider the ls/vtec setup, it's gonna cost you though and with the work set into it, you might as well go turbo. ck em both out though do some research...lots of good ls/vtec info at http://www.c-speedracing.com If neither of these interest you and you want to just keep the car n/a. you can make an ls pretty quick. get an I/H/E, drop in some cams, get the timing right and bam...you're set...with all that you'll be suprised how much go you get out of that motor.

take a look at weisco pistons, eagle rods, and crower cams, springs and retainers, and that will give you a good start, then you can look at moving to a shorter ratio transmission, such as a gsr or type r tranny

I have done all of the above, take a look at my sig, let me know if you have any questions

Don't forget to do a search too there is quite a bit of info out there
