b18b mods
I have a 96 b18b integra with i/h/e. I was wonder what the next thing I should do to my engine. I dont want to go ls/vtec or turbo anytime soon, so what could I do to help me get a little more power. I was thinking about getting a fpr, would this be a good choice for my next mod??
Port and Polished your head and get a FPR with it, my mid range is AMAZING. I have more HP and TQ then my friends modded GSR from 3000-6000rpm, after 6000 I start to die off. My peak #'s isn't that hight, but when we overlayed our graphs we were both shocked.

i would say upgrade to a VTEC tranny like the GSR, Vtec DelSol, Si, or ITR. I'm sure the better ratios would help you out. of course trannies cost a quite a bit more than FPRs.

Exactly, a fpr is WAY cheaper than a tranny, that too is something i might do in the future, but for right now im a broke college kid so im looking for some cheap but good mods
. As far as the chip lowering your car one second, I dont know about that, maybe you just got better launches or something. BTW my 1/4 times are real close to yours.

well zex kit would be ok if u just wasnt instant hp. 500 now that will take a second off ur time. just depends on what u want outta ur nest mod. better tuning? more hp ? alot more hp? where do u want to go. waht is ur ultimate goal for the next couple of months?
what about your suspension? why not improve it? ITR sway bar? helps a lot. If you want to go faster, then i'd suggest a high flow cat to finish off exhaust if you don't already have one. From there, i'd move to a lightweight flywheel and clutch. if you are not going to be spraying NOS, then get your factory flywheel lightened to 12 pounds or so.... shouldn't be expensive and will help you get some more of that power to the ground. if you are going to spray, the EXEDY chromoly flywheel is real nice. I've heard horror stories of aluminum flywheels warping and chewing up starter gears, so i'm staying away from them.
nitrous, vtec tranny or built the head with crower cams, springs and retainers.
You'll gain .3 or .4 with a vtec tranny, assuming that you can do mid 15s with your RS, it is getting interesting for a non-vtec integra.

Thanks for all the replies. I am now mid 15's and would like to see my times go down to low 14's maybe high 13's keeping it all motor. I know I'm close to low 15's now, I just need to adjust my timing a little and get my test pipe.
Right now i'm at 15.3-15.4 with cai and exhaust. I'm going nitrous and i still dont know if i swap a vtec head or i'm building a crower head.
I'm hoping for high 14s N/A and 13s on juice

i hear crower 404s are great if you dont mind the drop in mpg and the idle. also a port and polish job would be great too. theres alot you can do, its just how far you are willing to go.
