If you have a gsr head on it, it won't matter which B18 you have. But since you asked, look at the left corner of the block where it is stamped, next to the exhaust manifold or header, it will tell you if it is a B18A/B/C at least. And there is no GSR-style B18A.

i think what he was trying to say is that he has a B18A with a GSR head and he isn't sure how much HP he is supposed to have. is that what you were trying to say hb_rule_b18?

first of all i think you dont really know what you are tlaking about

but i think you are saying that you have a b18a block with a gsr hear and you are asking if you have the b18a 90-91 130hp block or the b18a from 92-93 with 140hp

the 10hp was due to the head (different cams and im) and not the block. all stock ls blocks make the same power

All someone had to say was that the G2 tegs came with the B18a and the G3 tegs came with the B18b. On the engine block it will have a stamp and as stated the differences between the blocks is minimal although there ARE some differences. As far as the GSR head issue, if I was you i would be a very scared person. If you bought the car like this and have no idea about the condition of the motor and its an ls/vtec you may or may not have a problem. Get it to a shop to be compression and leak-down tested to see the condition of the motor in its current state and take it from there. But since your car is an older teg the block is most likely a b18a.
