b16 tranny problems
when i was driving home from work my car my teg wouldnt go into any gears. the clutch pedal was hard to press down. it idled very rough. every time i got to a red light i would turn my car off and it went thru all the gears fine while it was off. i turned the car back on with the tranny in 3rd and crippled it home. what u guys think? ur help would be appreciated. just so u know i got a 91 teg with a b16a cable tranny.
Play with the clutch cable where it connects to the transmission arm. Pull on that rubber blob on the end and adjust the cable to have a very small amount of play between the rubber blob and the arm at rest.
Oftentimes, a spring from either the clutch disk, pressure plate, or return spring fails and snags on the clutch assembly. If you tear into there don't forget to replace the rear crankshaft seal, pilot bearing, and clutch return spring along with a new clutch kit.
