b16 header problem
hi, i have a b16a motor in my 93 teg and i got a 4-2-1 two piece header for a b16 and it is not long enough to reach my mid-pipe and it doesnt line up with it also. what header can i use that will reach and line up. o and it clears the cross member to.
If you are running all of the stock stuff (cat, exhaust) for a 1993 Integra, you can use the header from any 92-93 Integra. That is the only one that will definitely bolt up. You cannot use the 90-91 header unless you want to add some wire to your o2 sensor wire (the 90-91 o2 is on the left runner of the header, instead of at the collector like on the 92-93).
Otherwise, you can get any non-vtec b18b (94-01 LS) or a 00-01 GSR header that's 4-2-1 (4-1 would require cross-member notching), everything on the head will bolt up just like the b16 header, but I am betting you will need to modify your exhaust length to get it to bolt up perfectly. I don't recommend the 94-99 GSR header because it is very short, and there is no o2 bung, and will require more modification to make it work. Of course, you could do that with the b16 header you are currently having problems with. You can go to a welder and have them make you a little mini-straight pipe or flexpipe that will close that gap between the collector and the header. Just make sure to use spring bolts or a flex pipe, or your header will eventually crack.
Also, you said the header doesn't reach your mid-pipe? If you are running catless, you could just get a longer test pipe made as well.

yeah i went to a muffler shop and had them weld a piece of pipe, and just like you said they didnt use spring bolts and my header cracked, thats why i am looking for a new header and i want it to fit this time, thanks a lot purplegsr. (wow runon sentence lol)
