Default average price for an ls vtec

basically i wanna know the average price u guys spend on ls vtec and im talking about doing it the right way no half done jobs

i dont think its worth it i heard it leaks a hell of a lot of oil

d2motorsports charges charges about $1500 out the door with a b16a head. done right. not half asssed.

I have built several ls/vtec engines and never had oil leaking and the engines run very well. just make sure the ****'s done correctly...no BS.

By fully done do you mean just the vtec head and oil line or head, oil line, rods, pistons, crank, etc?

*LS/vtec is expensive...the one my friend built for my old car cost $3500 in parts alone...luckily he put it all together for cheap and it ran great!!

And to your question,if built right,i think one of the best setups possible,dont short cut anything and you will get crazy power!I have an lsvtec build up starting soon hopes runs before next summer

no basically ive heard that if u only put the vtec head with the block and nothing else it will eventually give u some problems so if i did it i would wanna do it right so what im saying is do i have to slighty build my motor or id be fine with a stock head and a stock block or should i smack the person who told be i need a mildly built motor

THE LS BLOCK IS NOT BUILT TO REV TO 8000 rpms !

you need to build the block appropriately first

i've been revving to 7500 consistently, sometimes 8000 for the past year and a half with zero problems, completely stock b18b bottom end

i rev my ls/vtec to 8000 all the time and my ls/vtec cost me around 1800 but everything was done right and got everything changed that needed to be changed
