Automatic to Standard
Can people please give me accurate estimates (oxymoron, i know) of converting my 92 teg auto to a standard transmission. Including parts and labor from a decent shop. I am just a high school student and want a ruff estimate b4 i goto my car shop and look like a dumbass. Thanks.

you have to modify the firewall so that you can get a clutch pedal, interior so that you have the parts for the shifter, etc. and to put it bluntly, no one wants your auto ls tranny.

LOL, buy a new car that is standard. Swapping this is a bitch and a half. You are gonna get WAY overcharged for this work, because it is so much of a pain in the ***, noone is gonna wanna do it. If you have thta much money to spend, buy some fun mods and enjoy the car as is!
one of my friends owns a 98 Corolla 1.8L which is automatic, he took the car to one shop and couple days later the mechanic called and said it will cost $4000.00 to change to manaul...includes labor..tax..parts...etc. !!!!!!!! i honestly dunno how much it will cost for a honda, but that's the price for a Corolla.....you figure out urself..
My swap cost me about $1300, and that was with my friend doing it. Unless you have a good hookup on the project, it won't be worth it.
Not only do you need the big things like the tranny, pedal assembly, clutch reservoirs, etc, but you'll need to fabricate a upper and lower tranny mount. In an automatic Integra, the mount is in a different position.
You can cut it off the frame and reweld it, but that would be trouble some. My friend is in the process of making several of these custom mounts to be sold to the public.
EDIT: Anywhay, here is what'll you'll need:
Tranny
Clutch with flywheel
Cluch pedal assembly
Brake pedal assembly (optional)
Length of at least 60psi hose for fluid
Master cylinder
Slave cylinder
Clutch resevior
Upper and lower tranny mount
Shift linkages with shift lever and ****
5-speed ECU (optional)
Center console (optional)
5-speed gauge cluster (optional)

Everyone overlooks just how difficult this is to do.. its not just putting a new tranny on there and going.. you have to hang the clutch pedal and run a bunch of lines and all this other ****.. it will run anywhere from 2 - 4 thousand to get done.. just sell your gay auto and go buy a new 5-speed..
Did your friend do a clean job and how long did it took him?
i went to the dealer and asked about swaping a stick in my 99 ls. he said it woud run from 1800-2500, depending on labor. i thought it would be more from a dealer. ive done plenty of research and have gone to numerous places. that's the cheapest i found, but any where u go will cost u a bi-och and a half
