Default are the automatic and 5speed starter the same internals?

getting tired of smacking my starter with a hammer to start the car up. i thought i had a spare starter but the junkyard that sold me one was an automatic... had it for like 5 years , so a tad late to return it.

anyway my question is are the brushing/solenoid the same with automatic and 5 speed tranny? can i just swap everything over

I think the only difference is the gear/wheel that engages the ring gear on the flywheel in a manual. Seeing as auto's have a torque converter instead of a flywheel. idk if you can swap that little piece out tho.
