ATTN: Ground Control users!
On Friday I'm receiving some ground contol's and koni yellows. Then I will be installing them the following week. So at what spring rate does everyone have their's set at. I would like to go for a 1.5 to 1.7 inch drop. And at what spring rate do you start to have problems with camber issues.
Alex
BTW I did a search so don't even start.

Spring rate has no effect on what your camber settings are. Camber is all to do with how low you drop your car.
I have the following rates: 400f/300r, and while I love them matched with my ITR rear sway bar, I think I would like them even more if I had 400lb. or 450lb. in the rear.
I am dropped around 1.5" all around, and if you go any lower than that you will start to have camber issues. My camber is -2 in the front and -1.5 in the rear. Just make sure that they set the toe correctly and rotate your tires regularly and you should see fairly normal wear out of your car pretty much up to about a 1.75" drop.
Any more questions that I didn't answer just ask.

Question...
...what if you're a n00b and installed the GC coilovers yourself, using stock struts, didn't bother doing anything else, and not sure how far it's even lowered...
AM I SCREWED?!
(yes, I'm the n00b, please be gentle
)
They've been installed for months. If I'm not screwed and there's something I can still do, please let me know. Hopefully I haven't messed anything up yet. (I was w/o a computer for a while, so I couldn't ask this question sooner)

i had GCs on stock shocks for about a year. when i removed them, my rear shocks were all covered with grease and the rod would slide in and out of the shock body without any resistance
btw the rates were 280 in the rear i think

I have 400f and 350r, which is what GC recommened. I still have to get a bigger rear sway, still have the stock one. I think that these rates are a good starting point however I may be going to a larger rate for the rear. I have a 2001 GSR.

To clear up confusion. When measuring ride height I'm assunming that I measure from the bottom or top of the sleve, which is the **** that compresses the spring and the pirch is what?

the perch is the "adjustable spring seat"
just start from the bottom and count how many times you spin it up the "threaded sleeve". and as for the **** that compresses the spring i don't know what you're talking about. if you're talking about adjusting the dampening on the shocks, it's just a little tab on top of the shock body and you turn it w/ a **** supplied by koni.
