Default Any comments on the Comptech I/H/E setup?

I've got a 2001 SE and soon, i'll be in the market to upgrade the very popular i/h/e. I heard alot of good things of the AEM CAI, DC headers and Greddy exhaust and i'm sure there are plenty more of combinations out there that are great. However, since my car is still new and still is under warrenty, I'm really leaning towards the Comptech setup since their product does not void Acura or Honda warrenties (pls correct me if i'm wrong). My question goes out to you guys to please let me know how do you guys find this setup up? how much hp gain, is it loud (good loud, bad loud), any dislikes, anything i should take into consideration etc. etc.

Thanks in advance

If you plan on doing bolt-ons only, then its hard to beat. Otherwise its time to mix and match (specificly the catback)

The intake and header are great. The header is the only 4-2-1 available that has a stepped designed to prevent reverse exhaust flow.

The intake is great as well. It is a tappered shortram, which increases intake velocity and throttle response. It also has a cold air box to feed it air from under the fender instead of the hot engine bay air. (these are bought in two seperate parts). The results is better midrange than normal CAI's, with little difference in the high end.

The exhaust is where it kinda goes down hill. Its a 2.25" straight through design. While it is great for boltons, and even a mild NA setup for the B18B.. it doesn't leave you with much in terms of high HP goals.

2-1/4" up to 210HP @ the flywheel (about 180-185 whp)

2-3/8" (60mm) up to 235HP @ the flywheel (about 200-207 whp)

2-1/2" up to 265HP @ the flywheel (about 225-235 whp)

2-3/4" up to 325HP @ the flywheel (about 275-285 whp)

3" big for big HP (Forced Induction: > 275 whp)

Just installed the comptech package on my car today. The exhaust is too loud I think. Its not like a bee loud but very deep loud. Some people like it, but Its too much for me. Its gonna take a while to get used to. On the highway though, I can barely here it (Thank god). But Its pulls a lot harder up top. Im gonna race my friends Stock SI see if I can take him. I'll be very dissapoionted if I can't.

thanks for all your input...

Another thing i want to consider is if this setup will give me a good base to further modify the engine in the future...

btw, any body have pics of how the exhaust looks with it installed. I always see them on sale in magazines and stuff, but not on a teg

As Style TEG quoted above, the 2 1/4" Comptech exhaust should be good up to 210 hp // 185 whp. You have to consider what you want to do... it costs a lot of money to get, say, and LS motor up to that level of power. I invested $2,000 in exhaust and engine and suspension and cosmetics, and I prolly only got up to 155 whp at the MOST.

I have the Comptech, and yes, it is noticeably louder than stock, but also noticeably less ricey/loud than, oh, an N1.
