I just got another two tickets for my exhaust and tint today. This is the forth time getting the combo of these two tickets. It blows. Here goes another 160 down the drain. How does everyone get away with having exhaust and not getting a ticket? I keep gettin pulled over, and mine isnt as loud as many others. There isnt a way to cut down the sound without gettin a new exhaust is there?

I have a thermal R&D exhaust. I have the paper from them stating that the db level is legal. But it says in california. So the cops dont buy the paper. The cops say anything but stock is illegal.

Well that depends, what kind of exhaust do you have? Some brands sell silencers... I know I'm asking for a Quiet Tip Insert for my Comptech exhaust for Christmas

And as for the tint, when you are in heavily policed areas try driving around with the moonroof open (glass open) or at least the sunroof open (cover open, glass closed). Yeah yeah its winter - I'm in Frederick MD and I just turn the fan off, open the heater core all the way, and open the sunroof. Its a nice mix of air temps.

i guess it just depends on where u live its mild as hell in tampa. cops worry about things like crackheads and murderers not exhausts.

Get a muffler that looks stock. The ES oval would be a good choice. A big shiny tip, or these days even a shiny nice looking canister is a cop magnet. If you look stock, he's gonna have a hard time verifying that was you with the exhaust as he drove by you.

 

I have the Thermal Stealth exhaust and I got papers from Thermal showing that it is legal. It shows that California has the strictist laws regarding the db level and the Thermal Stealth exhaust is below Californias maximun db level. Also, I took pictures of D.A.R.E vehicels with modified suspension, exhaust, etc... If i get pulled of for something, Ill just say that why cant i use aftermarket exhausts and suspensions when you guys are promoting it. My friend did this and hes gotten off of 5 tickets.

I'm in NOVA and I ahve an Apex N-1 Loud as crap and cops don't give it a second look. (Also for the record my car is also slammed)

I have Quantem Dark tint all around. This is the second tint job I have on the car because I got ticketed for the first one. Lucky for me, I get free tint a local shop Anyway, try the Quantem tint. It's kind of like the Lexus style, and it keeps the car much cooler than regular tint, and it's not as dark as regular tint either. Dont know what to tell you about the exhaust.

 

hey Acatak, will you post those pictures you have of the D.A.R.E. vehicles that you have? I'd love to have those pics and i'm sure a lot of the other guys would too.

actually I wish I had a straw sized stock exhaust. 5zigen fireball with a test pipe is too loud for me

 

I get tickets all the time in northern VA. The cops here are ******. They have given me tickets for whatever they can. One cop tried to give me a ticket for a light I had in my car. I was like WTF, it's hooked up to my alarm

 

Here is what has been working for me...I got pulled over about 4 months ago for my N1, the cop gave me an inspection citation.
I went and put the axel back portion on to get it signed off and just kept one of the signed slips.
It stays in my glovebox, whenever I get pulled which has only been once since I just show it to the cop to make him think its legal.
They havent put the pieces together yet to think maybe I got it signed with the stock portion on and just put the aftermarket back on....

 

what exhaust do you have?

thats a dumb reason to get a ticket my brother in law here in the dalles or got pulled over when he first got here from cali for haveing a loud exhaust and he took it to court and told him if they are going to make it take it off they better make every one else do it too and they told him if he would find some kind of a silencer for it they would drop it but they said his exhaust was no legal here in the US so they made him take it off i dont know but you should try to tell that..
