I'd have thought that something like that would be a secondary offense, not a primary...primary offense being you can get pulled over for it, and secondary meaning they can't pull you over for just that, but will tack it on if they pull you over for a primary offense (if that makes sense). I say see if you can find out whether it's a primary or secondary offense...if it's secondary, you might be able to get it dropped entirely.

I filed a police report after I ran over a giant fsking trench the township dug up and only partially filled up, ending up about 3" deep, and ruined my Benen front lower tie bar (scroll down)...one of the cops told me not to let a state trooper catch me with my aftermarket suspension or exhaust, because anything on the car that's other than stock is illegal. And this is in a Philly suburb...f'ing losers (liars, too).

Its called profiling, when cops obviously look out for cars like yours you probably shouldn't be doing illegal stuff to it. Because chances are he is going to pull you over for a dumb reason so he can see if you are drunk or if any of your parts are stolen/not CARB approved. Then you are going to get upset because he pulled you over for such a dumb reason and he is going to end up writing you a ticket because you were acting like such a douche.

Ya think??? Duh it's profiling..

What' i'm trying to get at is what import tuners have bad reps. (stealing cars, racing, etc..) but not all of us are that way. I just do it so it'll look better and handle better and for a little more power. But what comes with the good, there's the bad.

The other day I got pulled over for loud muffler. He said my car was a little loud. Takes my license then comes back 2 mins later. He said my exhuast was a little loud but it should be fine. On the paper he gave me it said no further correction needed, meaning I wouldn't have to fix it then. To the OP sucks for you guys. I can drop my car all the way to the ground and cops don't even hassle me. Some of Cali laws are complete BS.

i once got pulled over in stop and go traffic on the freeway. looked hard to give me a ticcket. he checked all my brake lights and blinkers to see of they worked. He made me rev my car to 4,000 rpm to see how lound it was and he made me roll up my windows to see if i had tint.

all my lights worked. my modifiyed magnaflow exhaust is very quiet so he left me alone at that but i got a ticket for tint on the front windows.

hows that for being pulled over with no reason at all

I had a cop try to give me a ticket for my car being to low. I asked him, i said officer what is the statue saying my car is too low. and he said. your car is too low if it is lower than 6" at it's lowest point. SO i got my tape measure out of my glove box and went to the lowest point(the jack tabs) and mesured and it was 6 1/4" off the ground. I got my registration back from the cop told him to have a nice day and left. Nothing he can do!

I was interested in this 22in bs, so i went outside to measure my headlights on STOCK ITR Susp for ***** and giggles, and this is the results...

My headlights are at about slightly under 22in if you want to be technical, so i find this 22in law to be BS. Any aftermarket susp will screw you on that law

actually, it does cost money, its called a consoltation. Even if you find a "free" lawyer, any lawyer that doesnt charge for there advice probably isnt much of a lawyer anyway. As for negativity associated with living in Cali, where else are we gonna live?

Well hell. This makes me think I better leave my car here at home when I move down. My car is slammed, with 5% all the way around including a 10'' thick brow on the windshield, and Apexi Dunk muffler. Fak! If it comes from WA where its legal, would I really have to change it over to Cali spec.....like you do with an imported car?

You could say its all luck. My cousin was tucking with a skunk2 megapower catback with black smoke shooting out of it and he never got pulled over once. My car has stock exhaust and i get starred down all day long by cops. Like someone earlier, its all profiling

I recently got a ticket two days ago... i was goin 30mpg on a 35 limit main st and got pulled over for modified suspension. He wrote me down for 20.5 inch so i remeasured and it was slightly over 22 inch. I even took pics. BTW i have eibach pro kit suspension with dampers on my ek9 which lowers 1.5 inch.
