surging idle from 1000-2500. ive checked the fitv and screwed the white screw down all the way. no vacuum leaks. bled the coolant system, didnt help. its a new motor and has all new gaskets. im checking the iacv right now, so any suggestions other than that?

what year is your Teg?
Have you cleared the ECU for any codes?
If you have a DA... You should start out fresh.
WIth the car on and warmed up.
Unplug the air sensor that's just beneath the IACV valve.
If you've done a lot of work to the motor such as replace the timing belt recently or change the oil...it will help so that you can use your spidey senses for a decent idle.
Use a long std screw driver and with 1/4 turns at the idler screw just adjust it little by little. You should be using a tachometer so you can see where your at, for best results.
Once your done, plug the sensor back in.
Turn the engine off.
Remove the HAZARD fuse which is in the engine fuse box, don't unplug the ECU one then your going to have to start all over again, because the idle will hunt for revs.
Now that you've put the fuse back in.
Start the car up wait for it to warm up after a minute or 2. if you get the desired revs then your half way there.
**
Now you should check your timing.
At the passenger side under the dash, you should see a green plug. short the plug with a paper clip so the ECU doesn't try to compensate for changes you are about to make.
*
It helps to have someone hold the timing gun while you rotate the dizzy.
I hope you know where to look for the timing points because its h ard o show you here. Once you have the timing adjusted, do a recheck with the idle...if its too low you may have to try the idle adjustment once more.
*
If everything is okay, Remove the short connection at the plug and turn the car off and remove the keys.
Restart it and hopefully you should have a smoother running engine.

its a built 95 gsr. freshly done. im not throwing any codes, and it wont idle at all. just bounces. adjusting the idle screw doesnt do anything, i tried that. the timing is at 16 degrees.

the car hasnt been tuned yet, so i think that might be the issue since nothing else seems to work. its got 1000cc injectors on a basemap, so im pretty sure thats why it wont idle

well, that answers that then huh. I'm stock, so modified engines are out of my realm. You need to get to a tune shop and have it Dynoed at the same time. Its fun to watch and at the same time you max your power while they tune it.
Good luck.

check your tps sensor... i have a fully built ls turbo and i had the same problem, the idle was jumping around and i didnt think of the tps cuz it wasnt tuned yet and had 750cc saturated injectors in... but then eventually the tps went so bad that when i hit gas it would stall cuz the sensor was so shot it read everything backwards and did the opposite that it should be doing.... so either tps or iacv could be bad...

--- FYI. the bigger injectors you go, the rougher the idle. And another thing, you have huge *** injectors and the car isn't tuned. I'm 75% sure that's contributing to some if not your entire problem.
I have RC1000's in my h22, and i also have a rough idle, even with it tuned. It's prob. not as bad as yours, but get it tuned before you go ripping the entire car apart. Tune is a must anyways.
