Hey guys, I just did a motor swap from a b18 to a b16a and I'm pretty sure the alternator isn't charging the battery. I finished the motor swap just last night and the battery light was coming on if it was reving under 2000 rpm.

This morning on my way to work the battery light stayed on then my stereo shut off and then the clock and then I was lacking a crazy amount of power. sure enough as soon as I pulled into a gas station, car died.

So i am assuming it is becasue the alternator on the new motor is no good. I still have the alternator from my b18 and wanted to know if I am able to use it with the b16.

If anyone thinks it could be anything else other then the alternator let me know.

It is your alternator, however I cant remember but I believe the offset or size of the pulley is different on the B18A/B then it is on the B16/GSR. I know I've seen people bolt them up and run them, but I think they are slightly different.

 

So what alternator would i have to buy if I were to get a new one?

 

I'd just buy one for either a 94-97 del sol vtec or 99-00 SI.
