Default Alternator or battery problem?

i've been having problems with my car lately. when i start up my car it takes a while to, and when i will be driving the cluster light dims and my radio goes on and off and my lights flicker bright and dark. so i replaced the battery. for a couple starts it started up fine and ran good. then one time before a drive, i tried to start my car it would go to the second slot but when i try to start it up it, i just heard clicking noise. i tightened the start plugs, and after a few more tries, it worked. then on that drive home, samething happens, my lights start to dim and my radio kept going on and off and the cluster was just dead. is it a battery or alternator problem?

you can drive it still, but theres a possiblity that the alternator will go out completley when youre going somewhere,,, leaving you stuck on the side of the road. i would just get it fixed ASAP and try not to drive very far.

electrical problem while running - alternator
electrical problem starting - battery (starter, etc)

the battery doesnt power anything while the car is running. it all comes from the alternator.

you can still drive it, just make sure the battery has enough charge so it doesnt die on you while your driving, and like TRE said dont try to drive too far
