Default alleged vtec problems

someone that i hardly know told me that he put a vtec controller in his gsr and his vtec part of the engine **** the bed in less than 6 months... granted he did say he set the crossover point at 2500 rpms but i guess the base of my concern is that if you keep your vtec set between 3500-4500 rpms (everyday/all day) as your new permanent vtec point, do you think it will be burning out the vtec anytime soon or cause your engine to die faster?.. I seek help from knowledgeable people on this question and not just opinions...Cause like they say, opinions are like ********-everybody has one....

hahaha

there's no reason to change your vtec unless you are on a dyno. now, should you need to move it that low (once on the dyno), there is no problem doing so.

he "burned out his vtec" hahahah did he break a solenoid or something?

And here's my opinion: Dont bother getting a vtec controller since it is obvious that you have no clue as to what the hell you are talking about. You sound like a typical stunna that wants to mod their car just for the sake of modding it -- and ends up making the car run and look like complete **** since they have no clue what they are doing.

Welcome to H-T, btw....

you do not need a v-afc for just intake/header/exhaust!
if you have some internal work done(cams, pistons... etc.), then i'd consider it!

my suggestion is to NOT set vtec any lower than stock!!
