i have a aem dryflow (99.4% filtration one) and i have little crap stuck in the very depths of the crevices on the filter... less then 5k miles on it forsure... i don't want to buy a cleaning kit now because its way too early to clean it... i also have some oil clumps and stains on the filter for w/e reason...

regardless of which how should i get rid of the crap please smacking it only gets rid of the loose, bigger items =\

your dry filter has oil stains?, it shouldnt have any for w/e reason, its probably a short ram and you have a leak on one of your tubes or something..

 

You have to be more specific. A pic would help a lot.

Oh and dont buy a filter cleaning kit, cause the dryflow doesnt require cleaning If I remember right.

 

Oil filters need oil, but there is a dry filter cleaning system, sold in various websites..

I hate when people talk out of their *** on this site.

 

I clean my air filter every time I oil change, every 3-4k miles. If the filter is dirty then clean it.

 

I soak mine in hot water and blow it dry with an air compressor attachment.
