Default AEM vs COMPTECH

Last night I got spank by a white 97' GSR. The sad part is that his engine is completely stock except for a Weapon R Dragon Intake. He also has on the Street Fighter kit from Andy Autobody (the one with the two little holes in the front near the lights) and a predator hood. I'm a decent driver. I was able to keep my car in the VTEC throughout the race and I can hear the little chirp from first gear to second on 17'. In first and second gear my car (red 95 GSR) was able to keep up side by side. But going into third, he just pull away. I think that at high speed, the holes in his kit and hood allow a lot of cool air to go straight to the intake. His intake just roar and I can hear it over my exhaust sound (Greddy Evo.) By the end, I was about 1 1/2 car length behind before I slow down of traffic. Anyway, back to the subject. I'm looking for more power and the race convince me that intake does actually work. I want to put in an intake ASAP, but I don't know what to choose. It is either between the AEM short-ram intake (with my homemade extension for cool air) or the Comptech IceBox. The roads around here suck and there gonna be puddles of water everywhere. I don't want to run the risk of having water into my engine. So which one is safer? Does the Comptech IceBox suck up water when the lower part is completely submerge under water? Also which one will give me more additional power?

I have the AEM CAI and have noticed a vast improvement over other in-engine intakes (real HP and Torque) not just rice boiling.... the comptech icebox touts no water ingestion is possible.... that sounds impossible, I recommend you check it out on their website... I gotta do that soon too ! Any type of short ram will be drawing in hot air from under the hood...some intakes with a superior air flow characteristic will give increased power.... but if you want to noticeable power increase...go with a CAI.

BTW, what size rims were you both running ? Just the Weapon R doesn't sound like it would result in a 1 1/2 car length in such a short space of road... Do you have any other mods ? (That could be robbing power instead of adding to it...)
