AEM Install
I just recieved an AEM CAI for my 2001 Integra GS-R
It's nighttime, and I'm wanting to have a smooth install tomorrow.
Any helpful hints? The instruction manual (if you want to call it that) seems kinda confusing. What are the 2 hoses for?
I also purchased the bypass valve. Should I even bother installing that?
Thanks!

Hoses: one runs from the valve cover to the AEM piping, the other replaces a coolant line from the throttle body to the block.
Hint: Be prepared to get pissed at how difficult it is to remove the coolant hose.

The coolant hose can be a bitch.. its a pretty easy install though. Make sure to take off your front passenger wheel, or you wont be able to get the stock air box out. I wouldnt bother with the bypass valve its a pos. I've driven in crazy rain with aem cai without any problems. Just take your time its an easy install.
I completely agree, i riped the hose to shreds after i got it out....it didn't help with the install (which isn't that bad) but i sure did feel better about that small rubber hose then
Id install the bypass valve...you have it, why not install it. Just use the template and slice the pipe...voila.
You dont have to remove the wheel...just turn it all the way to the side.

you dont need those hoses, i took one, cut it, placed it inbetween the intake and the metal pipe from the valve cover...thats all that needs to be done...AEM is not very smart or economical with their parts

The install went very easily!
I did install the bypass valve. The decision to do so made the installation much easier. I was able to install it in 2 pieces. It would have been a PAIN in the A-- to get it under the upper strut tower.
On a different note... The installation of the CAI gave me some respite from todays events.
To all those of you out there, G-D bless you all.

I thought about taking off the strut tower, but I figured that I didn't have to do that with the 2 pieces of piping ;-)
My car has noticably better top end, especially in 3rd gear when it's taching out at around 5000-7500 rpm...
The intake is also louder than the original, which makes it easier to hear the engine when heel-toe shifting.
Thanks for all your hints.
