acceleration vibration...intermediate shaft?
Hi, i hav searched on here for vibration problems etc. and could not really find much except for the obvious. was wondering if anyone has had this problem before. Okay, i ahve a 94 gsr and when i accelerate from about 55-70mph i get a moderate, sometimes small vibration in the steering wheel and in the seat and floor. From 70-100+ its as smooth as glass. I recently put my stock gsr wheels back on with 4 new bridgestones thinking that would solve my vibration problems. i did notice when i was changing my O2 sensor that on the intermediate shaft , the shaft itself has a ring on it loose like a seal for the intermediate shaft bearing, when i say loose you can move it back and fourth across the whole length of the shaft. i know this might be the cause of the vibration because my ball joints have no visual damage and my wheels have no wobble or clanking noise when i put it on jack stands. My question is if the seal is shot on the intermediate shaft and the bearing gets torn up after time will this definately cause a vibration before i but a new shaft and install it?
I know this may sound dumb, but i work at autozone and i hear so many stories of customers buying hundreds and thousands of dollars worth of parts and their problem still exists.

sounds more like a wheel balance issue. they usually occur during certain speed only from my own experience. like right now, i know my set of wheels are off balance from this also. right after i rotated my tires, there is vibration from going 65-70ish and that would be it. so you should just try and rebalance the wheels to see if there is any change.
another problem might be in a wrapped rotor too which is vibrate at a certain speed. one wya to elimnate this possibility, are there any shaking during freeway speed braking?
