About to start pulling the ABS wiring out of the cabin of the car, but want to know first.
Does the ABS wiring just run in the same loom as the car harness? Or is the ABS wiring integrated into the entire harness?
So basically, can i open the loom, and separately pull the ABS wiring out. I'm figuring a few wires are tapped.
Has anyone done this?

If I remember correctly you can pull out the entire harness seperate from the rest of the car's harness. It runs from the ABS pump back through the firewall on the passenger side and along the passenger-side edge of the floor to the computer in the trunk on the passenger quarterpanel. I think it's taped to the interior harness but comes apart and I don't quite remember if and how it plugs into the main interior harness but I'm pretty positive it can be seperated easily.

beautiful. thanks for that answer. so the complete abs harness is one piece?

Yea it's one piece, from the big plugs on the abs pump to the abs computer in the trunk. I just don't remember how it plus into the rest of the harness but I think it does underneath the front passenger seat, at least in my DB but I don't see why it'd be much different in a DC. At least that's what I remember from about 1/2 a year ago.

You need a Helms or Haynes manual to see the wiring.
I remember from when trying to diagnose a problem with my ABS a few years ago that there is some sort of connection with the alternator, but that may be made through the Integrated Control Circuit or whatever it's called under the dash on the back side of the fuse panel. It might not be an actual connection on the ABS harness.

thanks for the info guys. thanks for the diagram hatch_r, if you have anymore of those, lemme know. Like a diagram of the harness part under the dash.

I think this thread is slightly misleading, I have a 96 GSR and I just pulled all the ABS stuff and spent last night trying to sort out the wiring, rear harness is very simple, unplugs under the dash next to the heater core. I then cut the other end under the hood at the plugs and began to pull them through the firewall 1 by 1, all the wires that can be pulled through are, and i am left with 4 or 5 wires, I believe some go to the fuse box and 1 or 2 to the ABS indicator light, anybody have an underhood diagram like the one posted above for the ABS Harness? I have a Helms and it does not show, checked and re-checked.
I have 8 wires left over, 4 from under the hood ( 3 brown w/ silver dot & 1 black w/ grn stripe ) that go through the firewall and I also have 4 wires that went to the 2 black boxes under the crossmember. There is also 4 or so wires that are connected to the plug under the dash that I am assuming go to the cluster area. I have accounted for the front abs wheel sensors and have removed those wires, so these are not those particular wires.
Back from dead!!!!!
Can I cut the plug that leed to the abs pump(3 oranges one) and the 2 plug(also orange) of the front sensor without having any issue? I'll take off the rest later on...
