Default ABS problem

I have a '95GSR and I got into a car accident about a month ago (my fault; rearended somebody) anyways my car was already fixed and everything when I called the body shop on Monday but they told me that since my ABS light was on that they were going to take it to the dealer to figure out the problem before letting get my car back.

I talked to the body shop today and they said that the ABS modulator was allowing air into the system, but that they would not cover those repairs because this problem had already existed before my accident. Also, they said that bleeding the system would NOT cure the problem.

What causes the modulator to go bad? How costly is this repair?? Anyone have some advice or tips on how I should go about fixing this problem?
any help is appreciated

David

When is the last time you replaced your ABS fluid? or brake fluid?
Should be done every 45K. If you don't you could get moisture in the fluid and it will mess up your braking system. If you have to pay for the modulator start saving it's about $1200.00

If it was not on before your wreck it could be due to a bent ABS line or the modulator could have gotten whacked in the accident.
your teg has a Generation 1 Modulator which is more prone to fail than the Generation 2 modulator in the newer tegs.
