i disconnected negative battery terminal for a min or so and the abs light went out. after driving for a few it came back on. does my abs even work now?........i wouldnt think so...i guess its serious....any info?
make sure that your negative battery terminal is connected properly... if the nut isnt tight enough and the wire can move, the abs system will foul... also if that doesnt work, check your computer to see what code it is putting out... you might have a brake problem....
ok, does the light come on when parked or driving??
does the light come on before or after 30 mph?
If it comes on while driving it is most likely a abs wheel sensor giving the wrong value to the abs control unit...
do a visual check on the "pickup teeth" on the front and rear outer cv joints..
all the teeth should be there and not broken or damaged..
Do a visual on the sensors and follow the sensor wire harnesses on each individual wheel sensor and look for any "breaks" in the wires..
Check the connectors ( the orange ones! )
If you have and know how to use a Digital Volt Ohm meter, then theres gonna be more if all the above checks out ok...

look under the right hand side of the passengers dash, there should be a little green rubber thing housing two clips, take out the clip with the brown and black wires running to it, then run a wire from one port on the clip to the other. Then turn your key in the "On" position, your ABS light should start flashing a certain number of times (depending on what error code you have is how many times it will flash, such as mine flashes 8 times then 4 time, then repeats again.) Do that and see how many times it flashes, then look up in a Haynes Manual and see if you can find out whats wrong. Hope this helps,

hey guys thanks for the replys. it stays on as soon as i turn ingnition. i had type r springs installed on friday and im thinking the guy screwed up one of the rear lines or something. unless the springs temselves have something to do with it?
he probably damaged the abs sensor on one of the front axle locations. They are like $90-110 from the dealer. Check the code to figure out exactly what it is.
