Default 98 bumper problem

just got done with the 98 conv, but having an alignment issue. both sides of the bumper seem to "bow" out. in other words, there is a 3/4 to 1/2 inch gap between fender liner and bumper. hence having a "bowed" or "flared" out appearance. the bumper is a brand new genuine OEM.

i think it's the way i stored it. although i did not put any weight on it. basically, i just stood it up. did anybody run into this problem? any suggestions? thanks. this was REALLY disappointing.

Is the bumper screwed to the fender? Mine use to sag with about a 3/4 gap on one side

actually, bumper to fender is flush. from that part it seems to flare out so there is a gap from the fender liner and bumper.

did you swap the fender liners over??

the 94-97 fender liners are different than the 98+ fender liners.

thanks for all the replies and suggestions. i found the problem. my corner brackets were to blame. the part on the bracket where the tab goes in was stiff causing the light to push out and in turn causing the ends to flare out.
