95mph on a 70
I was heading to church today when I saw a cop in a motorcycle telling me to pull over so I did. He said that i was going a little over 90 mph. I apologized and said that i wasnt aware and i was really running late because i play drums on our church ( which by the way, the church he use to go to). So he gave me a ticket that says going over the speed limit with the approximate speed of 85+mph. He said that it is going to be mailed 2 to 3weeks. What would you guys recommend me to do? Im only 17 and I dont want the insurance to go high because i dont wan to be a real burden to my parents. Traffic school?? any comments or ideas? thankz...

Maybe this is a bit harsh, and certainly too late, but TRY SLOWING DOWN.
The streets are not a race track, and I will go ahead and assume you have no training in high speed driving, so do yourself, and the rest of us a favor, ok?
That being said, I suggest you contact a lawyer. 85+ is license-losing time in most places, and your insurance will got WAY up. (This is part of the lesson you are learning - you gotta pay to play). A lawyer can get you the straight dope on what you are in for, how to possibly get out of it, and more likely how to minimize the punishment.
Otherwise, you can listen to a million different opinions about what to do, you will go to court, and get screwed - you don't even know what your own rights are - sad that we are never taught and have to learn the hard way.
Peace, and good luck, and sorry for being harsh. It is for your own good, honestly.

Is this your first ticket, if it is then you can go to traffic school to clear up that speeding ticket so it wont be reported on your driving record so your insurence wont have to go up. The fine in the other hand mite be expensive, mine was 170 when i went over the speed limit by 18.

You can argue your case in court... most of the time, they lower the points and/or lower the fine, or the case gets thrown out b/c the cop doesn't show. However, I tend to agree with miketegra on this one. It was your choice to speed... you gotta deal with the consequences and roll with the punches. All part of learning responsiblity... and that lesson is easily worth one speeding ticket. LOL - do we sound like parents or what?

take the course, pay your fine, and slow down.
If you didn't want to be a burden on your parents you would be paying your insurance yourself.
