Default 94+ Integra Maintenance Tips~! Help!

I currently have a 96 GSR and the fact that its getting old. Just the feeling of sitting in the car no longer feels confortable. Door shuts it rattles. Open and Close sunroof, it stutters... On and off bumps, varies stuff squeek, rattles, or just become annoying.!

Now here i am sitting in my brother 01 typeR. WOW? smOoth..

Any opinions and ideas to keep the older tegs as in new condition? The feeling of no loose bolts, and solid movements from body parts instead of rattles, is a nice to be in. Makes you feel like your in a new car again. -=P

Any Tips to tighten up the tegs will be nice. ^_~

well the door rattle is a very common thing in the dc2 tegs.......I dont remember what your supposed to to do fix it but there was a recall on that. As for the sun roof, get some honda lube or some kind of good lube, and put some in the runners/guides that the sun roof slides back on.......as for the squeeks, thats just the way it is in lowered cars after time.......the stiffer ride loosens up bolts......my 94 gsr has lots of things that dont sound good, but whatever.........it still runs great (163xxx), still makes heads turn, and I get compliments all the time

Of course. There are fewer problems with the sunroof in a car that doesn't have one.

I'm feeling the same in my '99 ...damn those 400/500 springs...

reinforcement is the name of the game for the DC2 chasis...ITR or not. seam welding, chasis bars, new bushings, and removing all of the interior are good starts

theres an easy fix for that on http://www.team-integra.net theres a picece of rubber that always falls off inside the door panels and it just needs to be reglued back on.

what bolts in particular get loosened? maybe i can tighten those back up. Adding poly bushings/motor mounts and stripping your interior will only make creaks worse.

the seats are cheap on all Integras...regardless of year.

best thing you can do is get something like the SRD's.

That sounds like the seatbelt more then the seat itself.

No problems with my 94 seats, no squeeks, no tears or rips or anything.

my '90 doesn't have a whole lot of squeeks and rattles and it's lowered and it has 160K miles on it now. Screws loosen up over time, you just have to keep up with it and it'll make a big difference in whether the car rattles like a pos or rides like new. Grease and oil on all the mechanical body parts goes a long way too.

My seats are fine. Perfect condition. Quality of my interior is in best shape! Its just the annoying little things where it makes you think you car is going to shatter.

I guess i will try and Open the whole door Trunk, hOod. Every Bolt i see, I will re-torque the hell outa of each bolt and nuts i see. Just to keep everything back in tact. -

Another trick I figured out this weekend to stop the squeeks and rattles that don't go away with tightening the screws is to spray a little wd40 on the heads of all the screws holding a plastic panel down. In my '90, I found that the source of an annoying dash squeek was jsut the two screws holding the top of the dash front panel to the dash. I held a shoptowel behind the screw to prevent the oil from going everywhere and sprayed a little in each hold. Worked like a charm. My guess is the plastic hardens over time and the head of the screw will squeek against it as the plastic flexes.

I would just recomend to turn up the music really loud. But seriously, oil up hinges and put grease on your sun roof. Also just go around and tighten all of the nuts and bolts that you can. maybe it will help. good luck.
