93 GSR engine
My friend has a 93 GSR and he ceased the engine up, but cant find an affordable B17 block to repair his block, and we were thinking that he could just throw a B18a block on it and have the ls/vtec. is this correct and if it is how much other work must be done to have it work or would it not be worth it and just keep searching for a B17 block??
b18a shortblocks are much more common than b17a. yes, ls/vtec if done right will be nice for him.
i've heard a b17a crank in a b20 block with custom rods and some high compression pistons makes a great all motor combo... (depends if his crank is f'ed though).
even if you decide not to do that b17a crank in a b20 idea, for heaven's sake, don't just throw out the b17a block. sell it as-is to someone who can put it to good use.

well would it be cheaper to try to find a b17 block or would it be cheaper to do ls/vtec?? B/C that is our main problem right is the funding. we found a b17 block but the guy was selling it for over 1k and we didnt wanna spend that much on it and i found a B18a block for 250, but not sure if it would bolt up and work properly without having to do other expensive mods to the engine and we have heard different stories from different people as to if it would work or not and with what all would need to be done to have it done properly
