91 Integra LS Issue
Over the past few days as its gotten colder i've had some rough starts, Figured it was the cold. Anyway now the car starts better, but after 5-10mins of driving Check engine light pops up. If i shut car off and back on it goes away, and 5 - 10 mins pops up.
Car runs fine with or with out CEL on, just curious if anyone has an idea or can tell me how to check the ecu on it. Like i said in Title its a 1991 Ls integra 2dr bone stock.
Thanks.

Gas cap is on good.
I'll try the Paperclip thing, another thing i noticed is i put an air fuel ratio gauge on it and it reads good until right before check engine light comes on than it's reading lean to very low stoich.

Code 43 Fuel Supply system.
Filter has been changed, from what ive been hearing its either the regulator or the fuel pump and since its consistant im leaning twords pump.
Anyone have any ideas before i swap pumps, i would be in debt to you forever!

I requested a short story for a title.

Run some fuel system and injector cleaner through it first before u dive into the expensive stuff..also put some heet in there to keep your fuel from freezing if u run it on empty all the time..don't pour it all in at once tho
Car always has half or more in the gas tank. I'll try running some cleaners thru it didnt even think of that
.
Hopefully that will do the trick...hopefully, otherwise i'll have to look into a pump. Is there anyway to test a pump besides listening to it??
From what i hear tho the pump might be the culprit just due to people saying since its a consistant thing that it sounds like the pump is failing, but it doesnt make sense that if i shut the car off turn it back on its fine for 5-10 mins(Well the light doesnt come on)....idk.

A fuel pressure gauge would tell you the condition of the fuel pump.
Also check the PGM-FI Main Relay susceptible to problems that are temp. [once relay has been on for a bit] related and a common problem on older Honda/Acura... http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html
I would also test voltage at injectors as soon as you start the engine and once again after CEL comes on, may be a problem with the fuel injector resistors, they can also be effected by temp. [once they warm up]. 94

Everything checked out...BUT... found a huge vacum leak where the brake booster and Master cylinder meet. And the CEL didn't come on at all lastnight or this morning, it did however try to die once and had a handful of goofy starts.
Could the leak be the issue all along, or could this just be another issue all together?
Thanks.

there are many things that can cause a code 43. how do the brakes feel? does the engine lope, almost to the point of stalling, when you apply the brakes? if there is a vacuum leak, it may be hard to start, seeing as how the booster pulls vacuum, and you probably have the brakes applied when trying to start it. it would also cause the engine to run lean. which could probably throw a code 43 as well. usually a fuel pump either works or it doesn't. a bad pump will cause the engine to stall.
there is a gasket between the booster and master cylinder. that gasket may be deteriorated. you can unbolt the master, leaving the lines in tact, and just pull it forward to have a look at it.
sometimes a code 43 can be a pain to troubleshoot because of the high number of suspects
