Default '90 Integra GS Trans Issue

I have the b18a1 with the cvt auto trans (whats the name of it? Ive read MP7a)... for about 10 minutes of initial driving, the car does not want to leave 2nd gear. Has to go through some stop and go for about 10 minutes before it decides gears beyond 2nd are able to be used. Has anyone else had these issues with the CVT's? What can I do to fix it? And if I need a new trans, how difficult is a manual swap?

A CVT transmission doesn't have "gears"... so it couldn't be stuck in second. I have never seen a CVT transmission that bolts up to a "B" series engine, so are you sure that you just don't have a regular old automatic transmission ?

I'm actually not sure..is it not a cvt? I mean I have read that it's just a 4 speed auto. I just have it in my head that all auto Hondas are cvt. But might you know what I can do about fixing it? I'll be changing the fluid today. I'm thinking maybe change the solenoids next or add a trans cooler
