Default 2STEP WHILE DRIVING?

okay so i have a b16 in my integra and i just put an oem harness in my car. everything worked fine as far as starting the car the night before. i woke up the next morning and the car wouldnt start. i also noticed my speedo wasnt working and my car wont rev over 4200 rpms... even with my a/c on to disable two step. i've tried two different ecu's and the only thing i've changed was my harness. i would love to put the harness i built back into the car but i chopped it in half as i was pulling it out so now i have to rebuild it. any ideas to what maybe this could be?

I've had this happen to my GSR. Since the computer thinks your not moving it always has the 2 step ready to engage. Try cleaning out the speed sensor on the tranny. I pulled mine out cleaned it up a little bit and it worked.

X2 try fixing the Speedo problem first. Did you try a stock ecu?

ok i have not heard the term 2 step befor will some one please explain this to me?

i ask cuz it looks as thought the ECU needs to see a VSS for something.

i have a 91 Teg with GSR running on a stock P72 OBD1 ECU and if i need a vss it might just be the Push i need to go for the 94+ cluster swap i have been thinking about doing.

So I know this thread is very old, but in case anyone is on here that is currently having the problem I am going to explain what I did to fix it anyways. I had a full LS in my ek chipped on p72 with base map and 2-step. My speedo also wasn’t working and my car would not rev past 5k because the 2-step would engage. I then checked the fuse diagram and checked out fuse #15 and it was blown. I replaced the fuse and my speedometer was working and I could rev to redline again. But if that is not the problem for you I would also check the VSS itself to see if the ribs on it look very worn and also to see if it rotates both ways smoothly, even though it’s un-Likely that the VSS went bad. Also check the clip itself.
