Do performance chips work and what should I get or should I get a tuner instead

 

on a stock ls don't bother getting it tuned. you can get a basemap for an ls(afaik) which would involve getting a chipped OBD1 ECU

 

You're wasting your money if all you have is I/H/E.

if you only have bolts on you won't make any real gains for a "performance chip" you will however see some gains if you have a good tuner tune the car. I used to tune a lot of NA vtec b-series motors with pretty good results.

 

The vtec engines work better with a tune, the stock LS not so much.

 

save your cash for turbo then get a good tune.
