B18c1 swap
Hey guys I’m looking to swap a b18c1 into my ls integra. I’ve been trying to find a good thread on how to swap it in as far as wiring but I can’t seem to find anything. I read somewhere about looming the ls wiring harness for vtec? Not sure how to do that or what is involved. Is there anything else I have to do as far as going from non vtec to vtec?

The easiest cheapest way in your situation is to use the harness off your old LS motor on your new VTEC motor and add a vtec subharness.
period,.if you're using a stock GSR IM with IAB or not. If so, you need a GSR VTEC harness.
If you're using a single-stage IM (Edelbrock, Stunk2, etc.) then a B16 VTEC harness will work.
You can get the correct harness from Rywire for about $50. All you have to do is plug it into the VTEC solenoid and oil pressure switch, run the lines through the grommet next to the battery, and plug them into your ECU plugs. Then connect your OBD1 conversion harness into your p28.
I have a 97 LS and installed a B18C1 with an Edelbrock IM. I went with the B16 harness and this went perfectly; additionally, Rywire has instructions with detailed pictures showing you exactly how to insert the pins into the ECU plugs.

Re: B18c1 swap
You can also upgrade to a EMS like Hondata S300, the ECU has stock calibrations you can upload like stock GSR settings ect. You can do on board datalogs as well as trouble shoot ecu codes or you can have the ecu set with a custom base map if you have bolt ons or even better have a tuner street tune or dyno tune the engine for max performance. Its not necessary at all but its always good to have a EMS you can check things and set different calibrations with, say you replace the TPS sensor, it is literally so easy to set the TPS calibrations through Hondata vs the old way of using a multi meter and probing the wire harness and breaking your back!

Re: B18c1 swap
Thank you guys so my much. I have one more question. So the engine didn’t come with ignition coils or wiring for it. Am I going to need something special to loom the harness again?

Re: B18c1 swap
The engine uses ignition wires that run from the sparkplugs to the distributor. There is only one coil in the distributor. Not coil on plug if that is what you were thinking ?

My bad, I was mistaken. I looked into that sub harness on rywire for vtec and rywire said the harness is only compatible with OBD0. Do you guys know of any other suppliers for OBD1? I can’t find anything.

Personally, I wouldn't even waste the $$ on a subharness. You're going to run 3 wires total. Vtec solenoid, Vtec pressure switch and a ground.
