170's Possible?
Is 170 whp possible with this set up...This is all untuned. I don't have the CTR/ITR cams yet but i'm considering buying them as something to have fun with til i have more money for tuning and other power mods.
Aem Cai
JDM 4-1 Header
Carsound Cat
Apex n1 cat-back
CTR intake cam
ITR exhaust cam
ITR intake valve springs.
stock gears

Yeah, but i just want to drop the cams in for now. I don't have enough money for cam gears/ecu/vtec controller/dyno tuning. I plan on getting those in the summer. thanks though

I remember a dyno of an obd2 gsr with aem cai, jdm 4-1 with carsound catand removed powersteering making 163 so I bet you could make it.

yeah i think thats Dave-ROR's GSR..I think his motor is stronger than mine. i numbers with aem cai were about 10 hp less than his with the same mods. I'm not sure if he had his ps belt and stock timing at the time though.

Off topic, but if I do get cams added on with my i/h/e and carsound cat, would it be ok for me to rev on a celica GTS and not get embarassed?

When I was running 01 Itr cams, it made a great difference with the skunk manifold and ecu, my car was untuned at the time (as well as now with my new set up) but upon driving my friends gsr with i/h/e and a couple other bolt ons, it didnt feel as responsive as mine. GTS would be a good straight line race as always probably would come down to the driver.

Ok. This sounds a bit crazy but I was just talking to my friend with a GSR and he dyno'ed 194hp with a dynojet. He has ITR cams, DC header, Testpipe, Trust Exhaust, Iceman intake, AEM cam gears, and a V-AFC.

Hm....maybe the guys at the honda factory were working too hard and they misplaced a b18c5 and did a really good port job and put it in a GSR chassis all by accident?
Even if that was the case, 194 would be pretty crazy.

It was to the wheels. I saw his chart and everything. I almost crapped my pants when I saw it. I just told him that it was impossible and he showed me. Doubt he would lie.

I beilive you, but obviously there's something very fishy about that! Maybe the dyno was on crack

You seem to be a very reputable source of information, so i believe you. Maybe he got the print out of the wrong car? If not then...he got the strongest GSR motor to ever leave the factory.
