Default 1/8 time

just came back from qualcomm races tonight. Well i ran really crappy....my first time there, only got one run, and i blew the green light, got a crappy launch, bogged my car. Aish...i'm so embarassed. I know i could've ran alot better. Anyways, my friend in his Si ran like a 9.73 something for his 1/8mile time. What kinda quarter would that yield? Just an estimate. Also, any suggestions for a better launch? I never realized how important launching is when racing...

9.73 should give around a 14.8ish... what does he have done... I've NEVER seen a stock Si run that.

its not stock. But i did see his timeslip. he has intake/header/exhaust vtec controller, and i think he has a few more things. the guy i raced tonight was a gsr and supposedly had only an intake. anyways, before we raced, i talked to him, and he said his best that night on the 1/8th mile was a 10 flat. what does that yield?

That doesn't quite sound right to me. I ran a 9.3 @ 77 in the 1/8 mile. That was on my way to a 14.4 @ 95 in the 1/4 mile. Maybe that helps for comparison.

Things like that can happen. But you have to wonder what time it screwed up. Maybe it read the 1/4 mile lower than it should have.
