Actually came off of a Green Coupe, Believe it or not,

With the Hatches tail lights its not as close, but with sedans and coupes tail lights this has a close pattern to the way the red plastic looks on the tail lights, If it makes any sense.

I'll upload some installed Pics of it on my Hatch

It's probably meant for regions of Japan where low visibility is a problem, like said... it's a reflector.

 

Time to Bring this Thread back from the Dead,

A while back ago I decided to give installing this on my Hatch a try, And while fitment was close It would not fit, and that should mean it only fits 96-00 Civic Coupes and 96-98 Sedans, which makes sense. *Pics on bottom*


I have Googled and searched all over the place online and really have not found any more info about this at all.

I did find a member from a different forum selling a very similar "eg6 licence plate garnish" earlier this year, There wasn't much info about it though, and I'll be trying to get in contact with him to ask about it,

I've attached pictures of the other one I found for the EG



So if anyone else out there has anymore info or ideas about this Please post it up!!
I find it intriguing that I am having a hard time locating another one of these, or at least finding a picture of another car with one installed.

i always tought that coupè and hatches shared the same license plate support...

i was wrong...

 

this is pretty fascinating

 

It is very similiar, It is pretty much on the top back of the Garnish the way it's molded, prevents it from fitting into the Hatch with the way that is shaped.

Also if you search on an online Honda Parts dealer, a 97 Civic Coupe and a 97 Civic Hatch will have differnt part numbers for the "GARNISH ASSY., RR. LICENSE."

someone should just wrap their oem on in carbon kevlar for a similar effect aha

 

IMO carbon kevlar is ugly and serves no purpose (to me). At least this is reflective, which would be helpful in my case since somehow lots of people miss my bright red car with loads of lights and almost merge into me.

I suppose since they almost merge into me though that reflective tape along the sides might be a good investment too.

theres one on ebay...but I dont think its for EG the license plate lights dont run that way and the key hole are not there.
