I do.. err, my dad does.

ANd I"m pretty sure I know why my cruise doesnt work now Get ready for class kiddies!
-----------

When the clutch pedal is resting (not pressed in), there is a little stopper type deal on the top of the pedal that actually pushes a button, which is for the cruise control, to let it know the clutch is disengaged. When you engage the clutch (predal down) the button is no longer depressed and the cruise turns off.

Well, i found a thread with a member having the same problem as me. Turns out, he needed to adjust the button: fixed his cruise problem.

I went out on my break and checked my situation out: I DON'T have that little, i'll call it a stopper/nipple thing) that actually presses in the cruise button. I drove down the road, manually pressed the button with my finger and my cruise light came on in the instrument cluster.

At break time, I'll figure out how I can rig it, since my lil stopper on the clutch is gone. I'll see if I can get a pic of it too.

So, yeah... It looks like lil Jellybean is gonna have cruise control today!!

**Edit** it's # 30 in the diagram, Stopper, Clutch Pedal - $4.95

Well, it helped me figure out that one problem.. but that didnt fix my cruise control. I think the cruise brain box is dead. Have to investigate it a lil more.
----------------

I did get my AC recharged, but the compressor kicked off and on very fast.. didn't stay engaged long enough to cool. So there's a blockage or something, maybe the pressure switch is bad. Dunno. Summer's winding down so I'll work on that later.

----------------

I did start working on that bad panel though! I snagged my dads slide hammer and with a lil enginuity, I pulled about 80% of the dent out. It looks like the side of my car has been shot, but it looks better than what it did. I ended up losing my lil piece of metal I was using so I couldnt finish yesterday, but if I can get the door to line up right, I'll be throwing some body filler on it soon.

And If I can get that panel pretty much looking OEM, or at least looking good, I'll fix the few other dents and spray it!

I may be getting some lowering springs for Jellybean as well, we'll see.

Pics up later!

So I'm just lookin around on t3h interweb and... I find this.

So simple, just lowered with Fat Fives.

Wow.

**Edit**

Just so you guys know.. I have turned crap into somewhat nicer smelling crap before.

To this...

TO this...

Well, actually she's sitting like this right now, as I'm shaving and tucking the engine bay.

You get the idea. So I can turn Jellybean into some nicer smelling crap too!

Pictures of my work yesterday as promised.

I AM NOT DONE.. it will look better when it's all finished so don't beat me up too bad for it looking like crap. I can't say I have ever drilled random holes in my car and then take a slide hammer to it and wail away before

I fixed (or at least made better) the dent that was in my rear bumper too!
Before:

After:

The rear quarter panel..
Before:

I guess I"ll call this a "during" shot :

I was working my way towards the door when I dropped my piece of metal I was using like, in the car (hard to explain). I need go-go-gadget arms to get it so I just have up and made me a couple more pieces today

Updates soon, as I've got the itch to do body work for whatever reason.

OHOH... I've got my eye on an OEM wing for Jellybean too! We'll see if the deal goes through.

Thats PROBABLY because you're looking at the work of a n00b who has never done that type of work before.

Now that I've worked on it a lil bit, I would go at it a different way if/when I ever tackle this type of body work again. But it's all good. Everybody has to learn.. OR they just pay somebody to work on their car and then take all the props for it.

Which, to that I say hell no!

Heck yes! Welcome to the Del Sol community. I love mine, especially with it's B16. I was lucky to find a VTEC model. Too bad the body is crap.

Enjoy!

Well, fix it!

Everything can be bought in good condition.. bumpers, doors, fender and hood.. you can even buy the trunk and targa top. So basically, as long as it's not dented like mine, it's all easy fixes!

ANd if you don't knwo how to do body work.... do like me and learn. One thing good about bnody work is it's hard to mess up. If it's too high, sand stuff off.. if its to low, add filler.

Basically,it's looks reflect how much time you put into it.
----------------------

Which, BTW, I got some more of the dent pulled out. Had to go inside the cabin and remove the back panel pieces to get to the fill neck area.

Which, at first I thought it was gonna be really bad, as I could not pull the area around the gas lid up enough. That was because it's still connected to the fill pipe, which does not move.

So, I have to remove 3 10mm nuts and that will free the panel from the fill pipe. I should be able to pull most of it out! And my bro and I have talked about painting Jellybean and his CRZ at the same time.. after we are done shaving/tucking my Integra.

Pics of progress will be up on Monday, as I'm going to devote Sunday afternoon to fixing that dent. I really think I can get enough of it out for me to start using body filler.

OH, I"m also buying a new fuel lid today

Because the inside of the rear quarter panels is a very accessible place on the del Sol, I was wondering since I saw the pictures if drilling holes was really necessary. In hindsight, was it necessary or could it have been pushed out from the inside?

No, it couldnt. There's not enough room. Trust me, I would have liked to have NOT drilled hole in the side of my car... But you do whatcha gotta do to get R dun!

------------------

Speaking of holes and whatnot, I did some more work on Jelly this weekend, specifically yesterday.

I mentioned before how I made a couple of strips that fit the passenger side, sorta as a mold/pattern so I can get the driver side correct. Well here's a pic of one of em.

Passenger side:

Drivers side after I've tweaked on it:

Now here's an issue I have, which I kinda figured out what I'm gonna do on the way to work this morning.
But first, pics.

What you are looking at is obviously the fill neck/cap area. When the drunk n00b hit this car, it smashed in the drivers side. Well, when it did, it BENT the fill neck/pipe that goes into the actual fuel tank, which since there's a solid piece of pipe going into the tank, I couldnt pull the dent out of this area.
So I removed the 3 10mm nuts that secured the pipe to the body panel and I was able to pull MOST of it out...

Dunno how much more I can get.

Anyway, you see the problem/s that I have. Now that the panel is pulled out some, I can no longer put the nuts back in place to bolt the panel to the fill pipe flange.

So, my solution is I will make a couple of pieces to use as a bushing of sorts to slide in between the flange with the studs and the actual panel. Then I will use some gasket material of some kind and seal it, so no fumes will get inside t3h car.

Unless you have a better idea, thats all I have.

Here's a pic of where I am right now.

Compared to how it was when I bought the car.

Solid progress me thinks!

I"m pretty much done drilling holes I think. I'm gonna make me a few more templates on the passenger side for some of the angles/radiuses. I've got to adjust the door before I go any farther. It needs to shut tighter and slide towards the rear about 3/16". I didnt snag my gas lid, but I can do that anytime.

Sooooooooooooooooooo..... Thats where I am! I cleaned up t3h inside yesterday when I was all done. So even though the outside looks like crap, I'm rollin clean inside

Updates later. Feel free to criticize what I've done so far

ill show you what me and my dad did on my car. We used various length pieces of wood and a mallet and we got out most of the dents without drilling a single hole
I'll have to take some pics so you can see before and after.

Do it man... It can definitely be worth it.
--------------

Well, I made a couple more patterns. Basically, I just need to get out there and start slapping some filler on it and see what happens!

I dunno if I"ll be able to do that this week or not... I have to work on my Integra but really... I'm more interested in working on Jellybean!

If I wasn't married, I'd be getting worried...
