you should just use some mothers aluminum polish on the box. Spend a good amount of time on it and it will clean up so nice! i did it to my box that was kinda messed up, not as much as yours looks though. But im sure it will come out great.

I actually prefer using Bursch, it comes in a liquid so I can use it with my high speed buffer like I did on my bay to polish the paint. I should start working on the intake very soon, still waiting to hear a reply from weksos on the filter and new stickers. Thanks for the info, and like Ramirez428 said, I do a lot of polishing, and have been doing it for a while. I did SiR rims, LS meshies, ASR brace, my RSX exhaust, my GF did the Hasports after seeing me do so many things lol, and I'm currently working on a set of ITR wheels which are almost done. I'm thinking of using them as my daily rims for this car, and keep the MF10's stored away unless I go to shows/meets/track events/etc.

Nope, they do look similar, but it's no conversion. The car is an Acura 1.6 EL and they come stock like that. Here is another pic I dug up on my computer from last year...makes me really miss my car:

BTW, a teaser shot of the bay once I buffed it:

More pics tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm from Ontario, this car was from Manitoba, and seems like the condition was pretty good so I grabbed it. I don't have the option woodgrain. It's actually very cheap, just a stick on plastic piece of trim. If you saw it in person, you wouldn't want it. Oh and btw, the car is called an Acura 1.6 EL

Haha, I'm planning on going down there one day to meet up with you and Mitchell, and Evan and the SHG boys. NY is only a few hours away, and if I can go to Chicago and survive, I bet I can tackle a trip to NY

BTW, this is a 98 with 99-00 conversion (mirrors and grill)

Ok, so finally I'll throw up some updates. The delay was due to me driving down to Chicago for an S2Ki BBQ to pick up a set of MF10's from one of the members. 12 hours of driving, 2 hours of BBQ and 12 hours of driving back with some only 4 hours of sleep and rest on the way back. But well worth it for the set of MF10s I'll post pics of them shortly and I have to give a massive to Luder94 for holding on to them for me for such a long time.

Here is a pic of the brake boosted I painted the first time:

Unfortunetly, I sat it upright and brake fluid splilt out on the paint and it stripped a bit. I ended up refinishing it. I'll post pics later.

After about a week or so of letting the paint cure and dry, I took out all my detailing supplied (I forgot to take pics, but it's just Optimum car compound and Optimum Polyseal which is sealant and polish in one). I'll take pics maybe tomorrow. I'll post the process as well, but for now, here are the after pics of what it turned out to look like:

Before:

After:

New repainted booster now installed:

Gay picture my buddy took and made me pose for:

I'll try and post more pics tonight/tomorrow. I have quite a bit that I need to post up and still some pics of new parts that arrived that I need to take. I'll try and have everything up and posted shortly tho.

On a side note, I also plan on taking these pics off and uploading them smaller to an 800x600 size. I started uploading at 1024x768 and it's killing my bandwidth. In just 3 days, I had 1/5th of my bandwidth used up.

Yeah man, I'm leaving for europe soon, so I'm trying to get as much done before I leave so that when I do get back I can finish the small details and have the car on the road!!!

Oh did you? I didn't post em up anywhere...I think the original owner had them up in the Mugen thread tho.

I really want to go down there! Is there a solFRESH meet in September/October?

Thanks man! The rest of the car was painted the colour that the bay is right now about a year and a half ago. Like I mentioned earlier, it used to be pinky silver. Here is an old pic:

This is going to be my last update for the next few weeks, since I'm going to be going back home again to visit the family and spend some time with them before the summer vacation is over. I'll probably check back and see if I can add anything else to this thread while I'm in europe, but there won't be any photo updates I will post a bunch of things though when I get back.

As you can tell from the previous pics I posted, there brake fluid running down the side of the booster, and it also had a lot of scratches in it which needed to be buffed out. Since the brake fluid killed the paint, I redid it.

Before pic:

Here is the progress of my brake booster when I repainted it for the 3rd time. I stripped it to metal, and even noticed some rust underneath so I got rid of that:

I taped off the vacume line and the hole for the master:

Luckily I found a stool that held it really well in place, it let me spray it perfectly even all over. First I applied primer:

Wetsand the primer with 400 grit (drysanded first):

Sprayed it with Rust encapsulating paint from Eastwood:

I kinda liked the OEM-ish flat black look:

But I'm all about "da bling" so I sprayed it gloss black:

And clearcoated it:

And threw it into the car:

I'm still going to buff it to bring out more shine when I get back from my vacation.
