ok good, because i love that color thats on it now, it flows well with your car </TD></TR></TABLE>

oh yeah for sure I have this whole vision in my head of what will match and how it's going to look in the end, I hope it all turns out

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JJ-Built &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">since your known for polishing parts around your area... you should polish your whole car.... all the metal pieces.. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Haha, Nah, I try and go for the simple and clean look. Polished parts should only be accented. It's great for nice parts like Hasport mounts, ASR bars, wheels, etc. I think a fully polished car would be overkill, plus what would you do if you got a dent? You'd have to replace the whole panel

I think I've seen a fully polished M3 when I was in europe...I think it may have been chrome coated though...

So I finally cleared the bay as well. I have to give Easy_E props for this one, because when I painted the bay, I used his painting method which he calls "Threshold painting". You spray a thin layer to give the paint something to stick to, and then let it dry a bit and then load a second and third coat until you see the paint "running" and smoothening itself out. The process requires you to be very patient because you think you just screwed up but the paint evens out, and stays glossier than any other method I've tried with painting. All I have to do now is let it dry and I can compound, and polish the bay

It's really hard to see how glossy the paint was, so I tried taking a closeup shot in the light:

I painting everywhere around the bay as well...so on the outside as well including the rad support and beam, and the rebar, and around the fender wells.

Maybe daytime shots help it show:

More updates! I repainted my subframe since it had some spots of rust and looked very dull and boring:

Originally, I had spots of rust, and the subframe looked dull as [freak]. I used my drill and wire wheel to remove all the rust, and imprefections and then sanded down the whole frame with 400grit and 600 grit sandpaper and shot some primer:

In the mean time, while that was drying I taped off all the holes in the show tower area to spray the insides of the shock towers:

Shot some primer into there:

And on both sides, I primed the walls and then sprayed Rust encapsulator:

It's suppose to dry off as flat black, but here it is drying off:

Then I shot a basecoat of gloss black:

and shortly after it dried, I shot clear on it:

I'm pretty impressed with the glossiness of the finish

More updates:

I had purchased some hasport mounts a while ago...maybe 2 months ago or so, and I was meaning to get the polished for some time, I just never got around to it:

And one day, I just came over to my g/f's place not expecting anything, when I casually bumped into these waiting for me:

Thanks Eva!

Sadly I don't think this will make it to IA '08.

Will have to wait till '09 unless there is another meet or BBQ I can catch before it starts to get cold Car won't be done within the next week, I'm estimating 2-3 weeks.

um, 2-3 week? I think? The harness is being assembled today, we just recently put the motor together. I have pics but photobucket is reaching the bandwidth limit, so I will have to post from my other account.

I think we're dropping the motor into the car by next weekend. I gotta go to Honda and buy mounting brackets (2 of them) as well as an ITR timing belt and water pump this week so it can happen.

Urgh!! Seems like my photobucket account reached the maximum bandwidth limit. I ended up using my Porter Cable buffer on my bay last night and compounded and polished the engine bay. The paint looks really REALLY glossy now, and I'm very impressed with the results. I'll start using my other photobucket account for pics. It rained last night and then it got randomly hot, so a lot of moisture was built up in the air and my camera wouldn't function properly. Seemed like some moisture got in the lens, so I had to let it dry at home and I couldn't take any pics. I'll have pics up later in the week.

**** man, they want me to wait till August 7th

I'm going to try and create a new account and swap the files over, and then replace the links. Also, I have a bunch of new pics to add. I've been really busy with car/work/gf/planning vacation so I didn't have a chance to get this all done yet.
