did you crack open the busted trans yet? curious to see how 4th gear looks compared to mine when it let go at Expo 7 at VIR.

sucks about the turbo. I have a very similar setup for the past year and I havent had any issues with bolts backing out or breaking.

congrats on the w1n

i'm reposting this from the FI thread

Congrads on the win, it's nice to see results for all your hard work.

As far as the nuts backing out, I go through these same issues on our race boats. Safety wire is nice if it's a part you aren't taking apart often. Also look into "stover nuts" I use them on anything that gets too hot for a nyloc nut.

I was looking through that other thread about the bolts loosening and saw that someone posted they had issues with galling when using stainless nuts. If you thread stainless onto stainless it will gall easily, you have to use some sort of teflon paste on the threads. The last thing you want is having to remove a galled nut in a hard to reach place.

It gets BETTER!!!

I took my tires out of the back and found this on one of them:

Oh, well. At least these where my 'cheap' Rota rims.

Manifold if off and ready to ship back to F/R:

Going to the HPC Extreme coating (which is what I asked for in the first place ironically) and hopefully it will be covered under warranty.

Chris</TD></TR></TABLE>I would like to say it was drivers front or possibly rear. The pick in the first post with me hitting the gaiter is probably what did it. The back side of it was bug out pretty deep. I had some front suspension changes made and my turn-in points changed. I obviously turned in too soon going into the S's and hit the inside of the gaiter pretty good. There was another white hatch behind me with a green roll bar that probably saw it.

Is that the "Ape Racing" or whatever car with the K20?

I'd pull on him in the straights and run into traffic, then he'd suck up to me in the turns. When things sorta cleared up, that's when I hit the S's in the wrong way and then my turbo leak started up, so I called it quits for that session. Never saw him again on track.
