There are plenty of turbo options for that power level. How much are you looking to spend? What manifold are you running?

if you are looking to get that kind of power be VERY SURE!! your engine can withstand that kind of power. also that your engine is able to turn about 8000 rpms. because you are going to need a BIG turbo to get that kind of power and having that big turbo means it wont start boosting til about 5k rpm and if your engine redlines at 7k then your power band will be useless. I would say you need a GTX35R garrett a T67 turbonetics or anything of that size in whatever brand you preffer, 1000cc injectors, in line aeromotive pump and an awesome tune.

I somewhat disagree with the above. You will not need to turn 8,000 rpm to make good use of a turbo that will meet your power goals from my experience with an f22b1 at a similar level. These F series motor have a good bit of displacement and exhaust volume/ energy to get things moving. Keep in mind also that without the right camshaft profile, intake manifold, etc it will not carry and make power well up that high anyways.

For example. On mine, I am running a 62mm precision billet with a .82 a/r t3 housing currently. Manifold is nothing exotic and just a custom shorter unequal runner, 3" dp, full 3" exhaust, similar compression motor to you, etc ... I am seeing full boost around 4200 rpm (varies slighting depending on gear/ conditions) and it carries power very well all the way to 7250. It could turn some more rpm but unless your a a max effort race motor I would not get excessive with rpm.

You have a variety of turbos that you could choose to meet your goal, depending on your budget and some other details on the setup it is going on.

I agree with you, but unless he has the money to spend on a dual ball bearing turbo of a reputable brand that has actually designed the turbo for quick spooling, he wont meet his HP goals. I dont think a journal bearing turbo will be up for the task in this size engine with a 7200 rpm redline. just a thought.

You would be surprised, these motors do pretty well on the right setup. I am still on a journal bearing for reference.

Why wouldn't he meet his goals?

Its already been done on a journal bearing "small" (low 60s) turbo.
