hey i got a t3 off a daytona for my setup, i am just wondering if this turbo will run out of power top end because its not that big...input?
It should be alright for you, would spool up by 3500rpm and top out just over 6000rpm is my guess. Again, I think its a 50 trim 42/40 or something like that. I'm running a t3 from a nissan 300zx, 63/60 and tops out right before redline.
im in the same boat with the T3 .42/.48 size (out of a merc)... I'm hoping that there would be enough flow. we should compare notes!!!
anyone know of the most simplest setup I can do? I got many of the components for the setup already, but wanted to know what is the necessary stuff... I've read the turbo 101 by the guy from UCONN (which I've read some negs about it), and others.. but mainly got the partlist of the kits available and started matching.

you could run thqt turbo..with a dsm blow off valve..use braided line and fittings for your oil feed and drain lines.. and make charge piping with either radiator hose or get a universal piping kit (ebay)then you have to make a down pipe (welded universal exhast peices) the 2 most expensive parts you will need to buy are your manifold and your intercooler......thats the easiest way to do it.... complete layout go to http://www.homemadeturbo.com every step is there and pics
fuel you need a higher rate fuel pump... you dont have to get a new rail but it is suggested, and you could run dsm 450 injectors for that setup, spark you dont need to upgrade too much you just have to run colder plugs and if you want to for best performance upgrade to the msd setup for ignition..... i never did and mine still rinning fine.......

Why is that exactly? The stock ignition is more than adequate for a mild turbo. that's just bad redneck advice.

I pulled a turbo off a Daytona too and it turned out not to be a TRUE t3. I forgot what it's exact designation was, but the exhaust manifold flange is different, and I would have had to get a custom flange for my manifold to fit the turbo. Most everything else is the same but for some reason Dodge used different flanges for manifold and downpipe. The way to tell is if the flange on the turbo is PERFECTLY rectangular, thats a t3 flange. The turbo off the daytona had one odd-ball holl on the flange that sticked out and theres no way to fit it on a t3 mani. Just a heads up..
