integra console in a 90 hb lots of pics
I'm sure other people have covered this before, but I was bored a few weekends ago, and threw in a console from an integra, I even took pics while I was doing it.
so this isn't an extreme do it yourself write-up but since there are pics, and the end result was pretty cool, making my winter beater a hella lot more comfortable
this is the car it's going into 1990 civic hb
the not so exciting before shot
the lack of an armrest
prepping the parts
the original parts are taupe, so I prepped them and dyed them with these great SEM parts..... the dye works great if done right
You gotta get the mid-dash off
so you can seperate the bottom, there is a screw behind the metal of the ashtray
even the armrest was wrong, but was still nice leather
so I covered it with a scrap of grille cloth I had in the garage, using a little spray glue to hold it in place
then stretched it around, the nice thing about the grille clothe was how easy it was to stretch around
then the bottom goes back on (this was taupe originally)
after putting the mid dash back on, you can start to set the console in, you'll notice it doesn't line-up exactly
but with a few self-tapping screws you can line it up pretty good, and then send 2 new screws down through the floorboard, and the back stays tight between the seats
now I finally have an armrest
and cupholders to boot!
Even after a few weeks, the console still looks great, and the dye hasn't scratched or peeled off. I recommend anyone with a hatch do this little trick, cuz it really makes the buggy more comfortable...

don't remember what year exactly, but it's the same console for all 94-2001 integras from what I was told

the grill cloth on the arm rest looks good, however I can tell you from experience, that stuff is going to fade and its not going to take very long. It doesnt get total direct sunlight, but that stuff turns a purpleish color over time. Just a warning.

yep, did this to my beater and I would say it is a must for all EF hatch owners. I don't think I could live without my armrest. You can actually make the integra console line up pretty damn good. Yes, any 94-2001 integra console will fit in the hatches.

I can't wait to get my hatch up and running. This is definitly at the top of my "to do" list.
How is the availability of parts? Did you guys come by them fairly easy?

there is almost always a set on ebay for sale, it's where I found mine they usually end auction between 45-75.00-- which is why I got the taupe one - cuz it was that much cheaper

it's actually a pretty old scrap of grille cloth, that's been sitting atop a pile of speaker carpet in front of a window, and I think it's already faded it's best but thanks for the warning

Re: (Deli_Time)
I just did mine too. It can be convinced to line up pretty well. MIne is black with the wood grain from a 4dr SE. Cupholders to armrest for $40 from a local.

Re: Sweet (Fromda80's)
That looks great man!!!
I wish I had the access to that console when I had my Civic. I can get Civic Si hatchback parts if you are interested. My parts guy just got one in that was wrecked.

Nice! I've been meaning to do that for a while now but now I'm definitely going to do it!!! I Agree with "Deli_Time" drop in some Si seats and you'll be way more comfortable.

Great write up man. Now what should be on your to do list next is patch that BIG hole in your seat
I just got my armrest out of a 97 Type R, but I didnt get the center piece and when I went to do test fitting this is about a 3 inch gap between it and the shifter. This is also going in a 88 crx si.

Re: integra console in a 90 hb lots of pics (I3ackfire)
I would LOVE to get new seats for the civic, in fact that's how I got swindled into the accord seats I'm trying to get rid off! once I get rid of the seats I have I'm going to start looking for new ones......and again it's mainly just a way to get around in the winter
