Same thing happened on my car. I actually lost power without the muffler.
Some say they have gained more power with an aftermarket muffler than the stock muffler with some piping.

What do you think about the Stock RSX type S rear section? It should be about the same correct?

Wait, i thought you said you dynoed your EP3 with a 2 1/4" B pipe? The stock RSX Type S B pipe is only 2" OD. I'm just wonder how the stock Muffler aka rear section flows compared to the EP3 stock muffler.
If it flows pretty decent i might just throw back on my stock rear section and bolt it to my 2 1/4" cat-back B pipe. Thanks

So basically, no power was gained or lost with the oem muffler on and then off, correct?
Folks said the oem muffler flowed pretty good, but I didn't think that good.

Same can be pretty much said about the RSX's exhaust. I replaced my Skunk2 with the oem exhaust bc I was getting sick of the loudness. Love the quietness, and I could barely notice any change in performance.

I'm bumping this for 2 reasons...
1) I see a lot of EP3 exhaust questions
2) A new resonator-less B-pipe in 2.25" or 2.36" attached to the OEM EP3 muffler (on a normally aspirated car) will perform just as good as any aftermarket exhaust, period.
It will also sound very throaty and deep. It will not be raspy or tinny like many of the POS aftermarket exhausts on the market.

Good Bump...I had planned on redoing all the piping on my type s and keeping the stock muffler, then I said f it and bought the Apex'i Gt Spec. It's so f'in sexii...though it cost too damn much IMO...$650FTL... Told my gf it was $400 FTW!

Re: Factory EP muffler flows just fine...trust me.
Is there not a sensor in the b-pipe? So if i were to replace it on my ep i wouldnt have to get an o2 simulator or something?

There isn't a sensor in the B-Pipe but there's 2 in the cat, usually your B-Pipe will be the section between the cat and the axle-back. If you were to get a race header you would need K-Pro or something to get rid of the CEL. I have a DCRH with 2.25in straight B-Pipe to my stock muffler, I have a CEL for 02 sensor because I don't have a cat.
