8/8/08 - My B18C5-EH2 - Fixed Broken Links, Added Not Seen Before Snaps...
***UPDATE 12.19.2011***
2012 coming up will mark the 20 year mark for the car's age, and the 10 year anniversary of the 2002 build date. Technically I started the build in Winter of 2001, but it was finished April 2002.
Added a duckbill since the OEM wing melted (story is on last page):
...also I posted a few old school shots on the last page.
Update 8.8.08:
I'm leaving most of the original text content in place from the original 2003 post date, but I wanted to remove the list of red X's with working pics, and also add some not-seen-before shots too.
I originally built this car back in 2002 and it has for the most part remained virtually unchanged for the past 5 years or so. A lot of the pics are older, but the car looks identical to this day still. I have no future plans for any other upgrades, swaps, etc. I've got a son on the way any week now, and I'll keep the car as-is forever if possible.
I know it's not the up-to-date K20 swapped, ITB or boosted, wire-tucked, rollcaged, etc. etc. car that we feel is the standard these days, but it's my interpretation of exactly what I wanted back in 2002, and it's still fine by me even today. Anyways here's some pics.
Before paint/body:
After towed in from paint/body:
The pics above were taken with an ancient 02-spec Sony Mavica that actually took floppy discs in the camera itself!
As you can see literally every single nut, bolt, wire was removed on the car to do the color change. Reassembly took me a few months, including down time paying for new trims, etc. paycheck-to-paycheck. I rode a bicycle to work during this time.
Later, after some reassembly:
With old VC:
Current:
No VIN tag = brand new from Sons Acura dealership in Morrow, GA:
JDM aluminum a/c bracket and CTR N1 pulley:
SW388 and old Azenis:
with it's older brother - my current DD:
Older brother in chase mode:

O.E Honda radio block-off plate
A/C block off button
No carpet, rear seats, headliner, door panels, interior plastics, etc.
And finally for those who have IM'd and asked:
Best 1/4 mile time to date is a 13.3@104mph but that was with a 2.0 60 foot time. That same night on my last run I pulled a 1.8X 60 footer but broke a clutch fork. I ran this in 2002 before any tuning had been done that netted me +20whp/+20ft-lbs. of torque in the midrange. It could very well be a 12.9 car with good slicks and a good run, but I may never know for sure now.
I also auto-X'd the car at SCCA Solo II Atlanta region events. I haven't had the car in a real class yet because I'd be in E-Mod which has no other car in it. I would have to put some interior back in to run Street Mod, but I simply won't do that.
***NOTE***
Engine was baselined at 175/122 back in 2002 in my old chassis with only mods being i/e and cam gears, on a Kenji-spec P28.
It was later tuned via FPR and V-AFC combo to 175/128ft-lbs. and saw gains of +20whp/+20ft-lbs. of torque in the midrange.
It was then finally tuned a few years ago via turbogixxer/Kenny via Uberdata to 178/132 and the check engine shift light and two-step drag launch was also added via Kenny.
Update April 2010:
I still have the hatch, and it's much the same as its always been. I've snapped some new shots lately just messing around the garage:
Few pics I've snapped recently in my garage at home:
7 year old VIS C/F hood and it's still glossy:
Under that glossy hood:
How it's usually parked in my "two car" garage lol:
Realized I never posted any decent interio shots:
Ghetto two-step anyone?
Aluminum a/c bracket:
Much-hated CTR N1 pulley that allegedly "destroys engines" lol:
And chillin' with its older bro:
Thanks for viewing my old biatch.

One of the sweeetest hatches here, period
That's an agressive looking pic. Just out of curiousity, why didn't you paint your mirrors along with the rest of it? Doesn't really look bad I guess, but a little unexpected....

Shawn I'd love to know for sure if you guys are coming up or at least if it'll be after 12:00.
That way I'll know which car to drive in to work.

Yo Tom, that Fuji Finpix3800 is a nice camera. I work at Circuit City in Newnan and we can't hardly keep it in stock. It's hard to beat a 6x optical zoom
