Default JDM POWER FOLDING MIRRORS OPERATED BY ALARM

Has anyone successfully hooked their JDM Mirrors up to their alarm? I did some research and in other Honda models they have hooked the unlock and lock leads from the alarm to the unfold and fold leads on the mirrors. I am wondering if this is actually what works?

I wonder if this would work for the lock feature as most alarms also have a lock feature for when the car goes in motion. It would be bad to have the mirrors fold in once you have begun to move.

Has anyone done this or does anyone have any ideas?

That would not work as there is an unfold and fold lead. I am not looking to operate the mirrors from the remote of the alarm seperate from the alarm but have them work automaticaly with the alarm.

THe only reason I posted here is that the Prelude relay has 7 wires as oppsed to 5 wires, I beleive, for all the other relays.

i dont know the answer, but would be a neat thing to have the mirrors to do.

could you wire the mirrors to the door locks?

Didn't you get my message....You can wire it to the black yellow wire on the switch. You'll only be able to open and close while the car is in the first key position or on. You can wire it to the radio constant too.

That would be so badass to lock your car (and arm the alarm) and have the power mirrors fold in.

what you would need to do to make this work is pretty simple i think. someone said above that when you wire them to the alarm and close the doors from the inside they will close up on you. that FALSE. that is two diffrent signals, alarm and door looks. all that need to be done is splice in the positive and negative wire directly to the alrm acc and its done.

You could also hook it up to the Power Antenna Lead from you Radio. I would only do this is you have an Aftermarket Radio, so you could wire in the Mirrors to the Power Antenna wire in the Harness Adapter.

Reason I got this idea is because my stock Antenna stopped working and so I don't wire in the Antenna so I don't have to hear it grind.. I'm going to remove it anyways. So when you turned the car off, the Mirrors would fold in and fold out when you turned it on. Only thing would be if you turned your radio off/on then it would fold them also.

Also, I will sometimes hit my Arm button when it's already armed, just to make sure, so I don't want them folding back out or what not..

I'm thinking about trying what I suggested, just haven't yet as my Drivers Mirror is acting up on me..

I'm not sure, but I think there only needs to be one wire that is hooked up to the Alarm/Radio or however you'd want to do it.. I think it's the Blue/Yellow wire.. But I did this a year ago and can't remember exactly.. I'm looking at my diagram, but it's not helping me remember, I was in a rush when I did it...

I don't know about you guys, but I used all the factory wiring to install the mirrors. It was much easier than cutting the factory wiring. Only had to add two wires each (Four Total) from the Mirrors to the Relay. And then One from the Relay to the Switch, which I used the stock Mirror Switch Harness and not the JDM Mirror Switch Harness.
I can't remember where I wired the Yellow/White (I believe) wire into though..
