Default converting an obd2b small plug dizzy to obd1?

yes, i'm a n00b when it comes to wiring, but does anyone know a link as to where I can find out how to convert or repin these things?

I have like 4 harnesses hacked up right now and thehatchninja and i are getting pretty ADD and gnarly right now.

Correction. Thehatchninja is getting gnarly and I'm getting ADD.

TIA

I've done that before. They are not the same on this one. Plus there are usually 9 wires, this dizzy had only 8. I got it all figured out, except for the rpm signal wire is just hanging out, and the place where it connects to the ignitor is empty. (there is a lead to connect to tho, which we will do)

hmm so its not the same as like obd 2 b16 to obd 1 b16 dizzy? because i've done that numerous of times and they have the same exact amount of wires, but the plug has the 6 wires plus the 2 big ones on the same obd2 plug....never ran into this issue

Well the easiest way is to just use an OBDI H22 distributor......but that's too easy.

h2b_eg8, I've done the same thing with obd2A distributors, but I think all OBD2B's are like the one pictured above, with only 8 wires. (my 99 civic is like that) I suspect that the OBD2B cars get the rpm signal from elsewhere, but i have no idea why or where, especially when there is still a place on the ICM for the RPM signal.

Hey, I'm not meaning to thread jack or anything, but will I run into the same problems putting a '00 F23A5 into a '95 EX?

So there'll be 9 wires on the F23's dizzy that I have to match up to 6 wires for the Z6's harness...?

I assume that you will. The OBD2B dist. has only 8 wires, your obd1 should have 9. The colors won't match up at all. So instead of worrying about what color matches up to what just worry about the function of the wires. There are 4 things in the dist. that need + and -. Well 5, but I believe the ICM (ignitor) and the RPM lead signal (tach) share a ground. The other three you have to worry about is the Cylinder Position sensor (CYP), the Crank Position sensor (CKP) and the Top Dead sensor (TDC).

I'm sitting here looking at the sheet I took notes on as I figured out what was what, but it's just confusing me more. I'll scan it and post the pic. Hope it helps.

BTW...the easiest thing for you would be to use a F22B1 distributor. (i believe it will fit, and should be plug and play.)

my scanner isn't working. I can probably put together a diagram if it would help....but right now i'm watching Heroes on NBC.com, so I'm unmotivated.

correct...if you get the colors straight for the function of obd2b your straight and you can trace back via diagram to obd1

This is what i've found, hopefully it's correct.

<u>OBD2B dist. wire colors</u>

<u>ICM</u>
+ yel/grn
- Blk/ Yel (this is shared with the RPM lead signal....which is confusing)

<u>CKP </u>
+ Lt blu
- White

<u>CYP</u>
+ Tan
- Blk

<u>TDC </u>
+ Tan/Blu
- Wht/Blu

<u>RPM lead signal</u>
....Blue, wire directly from OBD1, or OBD2A engine harness since this is the missing signal on the OBD2B plug. There is an empty lead on the side of the ICM (ignitor) Connect the blue wire from your harness directly to the ICM lead.

that's obd2a.....which is so easy to convert to it would be a waste of $30. That would be awesome if they made one for obd2b

the conversion is for obd2b... 99-00 si type.. we use em all the time.

im a lazy bastard and dont really like to do any work, so id spend the 30 bux

the f20b plug on his mess is like some single cam and some integra junk

hte dizzy plugs are weird, my buddy had a 98ex that had the same plug as a 99-00 si and this other kid has a 01 integra LS that has the same plug as bense..
