I promised pics and video of my 4g63 crx
This has been my pet project for quite a while. It should be on the road this week when I finish the front cross member. I'll show a few pics and 2 short clips.
Details:
1990 cyclone NA motor
1991 jdm GVR4 ECU with my own "clip-over"
modified 89 si harness with a sub-haress for the 2nd gen MAF and ICAV
modified CRX axles
homemade front x-member
96 neon radiator
1st gen dsm shifter/cables
td04h (auto) turbo..*free for now*
homemade 2.5" mandrel downpipe
2.5" exhaust
motor mounts made from scratch with 2.5" exhaust pipe with hockey pucks as inserts!
1995 GSR cluster with 2000 mirage electronic VSS
Motor Shot
Turbo and test fit intercooler
Trans mount
Timing belt mount
Wireharness
Clip-over
OBD2 connector/sub-harness
GSR cluster
Please feel free to comment or ask questions. The vids will be up later this week....I'm having a lil trouble with uploading them for some reason. It's nothing special.... Just the 1st start up and then the 2nd is one of the turbo/motor revving up.
Thanks for looking in advance.
BTW, for the haters and uber-honda freaks, I can appreciate your love. I love my honda. I was looking for something different and relativey inexpensive since the B18c5 was stolen outta my 89 si last april. This should prove to have 195hp and 205tq stock which isn't too shabby for a "stock" setup.

Re: (exsinnovation)
It's a 1990 talon NA transmission with 89 crx si axles. The passsanger side one was shortened by 3/4" and the driver's axle was extended by 1". The inboard joints on a sohc d-series trans are the same as the inboard joints of a dsm.

Re: (slowcarguy)
hahahaha Hey Alex, can i buy that wiring kit from RYWIRE?
OMG.. I THINK I CAN. LOL
You need to send your wire harness to us if you can have the car down for a week, we'll re-build it for you. (free of course) with a new 10-pin plug like ours.. Our pigtail is much smaller and will fit through the firewall easier LOL
Also, I can host your Vids for a lil while on Norcalcrx.org.
Ryans K20 Videos maxxed out our bandwidth for November LOL
BTw, i'm going to steal your show... Look what i bought.
I'm such a *****.. i bought TedG's CRX!!!

Freakin' awesome wiring man. Glad to know my car isn't the only one that looks like that by the ECU. Then again I have a stockish motor so it's really no excuse lol. Looking forward to videos.

interesting fo sho. I don tlike the mounts though. THat massive gap is gonna cause some problems. I'd at least tack some washers together and put them on the bolt to fill the gap....

Re: I promised pics and video of my 4g63 crx (CRX-Noob)
Andrew is a good friend of mine. He stops by every once in a while and we'll talk shop and put back some beers.
In response to the motor mount problem, I don't know what gap is troublesome. I used JB weld on the pins that go thru the bushing/pucks so that it doesn't slide back and forth.
1990 4g63s are like the other guy said, non-crank walking 6-bolt motors. I also chosse to go with the NA version of this motor because of the cost. It was $450 shipped to my door vs $1300 for its turbo bretheren.

Re: I promised pics and video of my 4g63 crx (Smokinsax)
Dude, 1st off, about a month ago I read your whole boot thing on your civic....GREAT!
Internally, the differences are, higher compression pistons (9.1:1 vs 7.8:1) and thinner wrist pins. Also NA motors don't have oil squirters.
I swapped over the turbo cams.
Everything else is the same.
