Default A little help and the seach king does not want to search.--->pcv valve<---

Does anyone have a picture of the pcv valve and it's location? (don't be a wise *** and say it's under the IM, I know but I would like to see)
I want to change it before I start this mission Friday, Maybe it will help me from burning 2 cases of oil

Also, Does anyone know if the one for a 2000 Civic Si is the same as the 01 ITR?
I was told they have different part #s... Honda dealer- close. Acura dealer- Far

Fug searching, I'm tired and will check this post when I get up tomorrow.
Thank you for your help.

#8 in the pic above....

Don't know if the 2000 Civic Si will fit. If it fits, use it.

The valve is really easy to get to. Its behind the valve cover on the left side of the intake manifold where it meets the block. Its really easy to remove, just pinch the metal clip and the piull the hose off. The Valve pulls out pretty easily. Hope this helps

It's not under the IM, it's on top of it near where the IM meets the block.

You should buy a helms, sounds like you need it pretty bad.

be careful pulling out the old one and putting in the new one. they are plastic, and they break rather easily.

The PCV valves are not the same-the ITR PCV valve is JDM red

thats it. pull that out, then pull it out of the attached hose. careful not to break the new one when putting it in.

Let me lead off by saying, Rob, that's a good idea. If the valve was stuck open you might get a lot of oil suckage into the I.M. A backup check would be to take some 3/8ths fuel line (maybe $0.75 per foot at NAPA etc.) and run it from your PCV to a empty coke bottle wedged by your battery. Then get a 3/8ths-ish cap to cap off your intake manifold PCV.

Voila, your PCV is bypassed, and you can see how much oil is coming out. Emissions be damned.

Holy jesus christ! What?

You can get a reasonable replacement from Pep Boys, Autozone, etc. for like $3.

Maybe OEM is better... but still. Jeebus. All that for a plastic check valve.

I guess it is "Red" and the Pep Boys one is Grey...

Please, someone come in here and enlighten us as to why anything more than $5 for a plastic PCV valve is not a rip off? Or why the Pep Boys one doesn't work?

I had no idea autozone sold PCV valves. I thought maybe they were too honda-specific and autozone wouldnt carry them so I never even thought to ask.

I know that Autozone and local parts stores sell PCVs , but for some reason I have in my head to use oem emission parts for best results.

Damm, Autozone is walking distance from my house, I need to call them and see if they have it in stock.

Great idea to save money, thanks.

I bought one (looked like it was for a ford?) that fit fine. Maybe I have a picture...

Thar she is. Purolator PV1062. Not a super-duper-exact copy of the OEM one, but it fit, and stayed in, and worked.
