Default Engine problem ( misfire )

im just curious i had a misfire in my cylinder #2. i tried to do a compression test. i was able to take out all the spark plug wires 1, 3, 4. 2 seemed welded on there. i didnt do any previous hard driving. however, there is a recall on the spark plug for my car. My question is w/o driving my car hard could this happen? It happened out of no where. I use this car for commuting.

1. this is not my daily driver.
2. its a year 2000 w/ 23k miles
3. theres a spark plug recall.

heres a quick list that i just looked up and found.

also, how can having an intake make cylinder #2 misfire causing the spark plug to explode an weld its self? keep in mind that the motor still runs, but runs like crap. if my engine did hydro lock it wouldnt of been running any more.
