whats better uberdata or vafc???
Whats would be better to use for fuel/engine managment, on a '93 vtec lude, with a turbo set up???? a p28 with uberdata, or a apexi vafc???? or any other set up that i am un aware of ????

WELL WORTH the money.. I had a fully built h22 with 9:1 comp and couldnt beat a ******* escort on a vfac but i went uberdata dna OMFG its a whole new car.. ill sell ya my vfac if you want i dotn need it anymore.. its worthless..

VAFC changes signals that goes to the ECU. So that means the ECU think something that is happening, which in reality is not. It uses stock maps and just makes the ECU think the motor is doing something it is not. All in all, it is not the best thing to use.
Uberdata is a editor that lets you actually change the maps of the ECU. It allows greater tuning for your engine. It also allows options like Full throttle launch/shifting, misc options, datalogging, etc.
VAFC is **** compared to uberdata.

anybody who uses a vafc for engine management on a
turbo application is on crack.
Uberdata is good as long as you know what you're doing tuning
or have a friend that does.

Uberdata is MUCH better, but only if you can find someone that knows how to tune with it.
I haven't heard of hardly anyone that's ran Uberdata on their Prelude, though.

the H23 ecu's cant be socketed or something like that. Thats what my friend told me. He said if i wanted to uberdata my car, to get an LS ecu or somethin

Definitely Uberdata. Uberdata allows you to completely reprogram fuel and ignition maps. Much like Hondata. It also has provisions for datalogging and other neat tricks. You won't be able to use your stock ECU, as the P12/13/14s used in Preludes have a different set of software than the p72/p28/etc that are supported by Uberdata and the pgmfi.org community. You will need to install a socket in the ECU, and burn a chip with the new program. You can find everything you need to know here:

They sell a kit that has everything you need to socket your ECU, minus tools. For an H22x motor, you will probably want a p72 ecu, as it has the knock sensor and can control you IAB, which the p28 cannot. If you are running a different intake manifold, like the Skunk2, or Venom and do not need IAB or knock, the p28 is much cheaper. The biggest advantage of Uberdata is flexibility. Download the program and some sample ROMs and check it out.

From what I have heard uber and hondata are pretty close in all tuning capabilities. Hondata is just more widley accepted and more people/ shops can work on it. But like everyone says uberdata is freeeeeeeeee.
